Spent some time over on Nebraska’s board. That fan base is pretty funny.

You can basically put them in two categories when it comes to how they feel about their Huskers:

1. They will be lucky to win another game

2. They can beat Ohio State, win out and make the playoffs

I think that fan base suffers from PTSD.

Many on their board feel they will hold the IU O between 10-20 points and win by double digits. They are very puffy chested about their D only giving up 10+ points once (vs the Illini, a loss) while seemingly ignoring they’ve played probably the 2 worst O’s in the league in PU and Rutgers. Also forgetting the CU OL is maybe the worst in the country (Khalil Benson was starting last I looked and getting whipped regularly). Both their OL and DL will out physical us up front (their words, not mine and Saw that on some Neb podcaster too), even though some there do admit, their OL and run game isn’t great.

I am really looking forward to this one.

Ha, sounds like us with bball.

Line has moved from -3.5 to -6.5. Sheesh.

Vegas knows something.

Vegas didn't move that line. The betting action forced the books to move it. 94% of the betting public immediately jumped all over Indiana at -3.5, -4.5, and then -5.5.

-6.5 is where it stands now as Vegas feels they can finally start drawing even money. I think the line will eventually grow to -7.5 as the week goes on, and then it will fall back into the 6's around game time as the sharps throw a lot of money at Nebraska.

- Half the ESPN writers and Nicole Auerbach from NBC Sports have Indiana in the playoffs
- Cignetti will be on McAfee this week
- Indiana willl be highlighted on ESPN, CBS, and NBC College football shows during the week.
- All of the pundits will pick Indiana.

The Hoosier Love Fest will draw a lot of Indiana money this week.

took the words out of my mouth. I think IU bball fans and Neb fball fans of ages 50+ have lived parallel lives without knowing it. Waking up everyday hoping it's any time before the mid 1990s.

Did it feel familiar??

Huskers signed a new kicker and he will lead them on the field. He's an Asian kid named Teisei Kominaga.

Hoosiers are so fvcked.

Husker here. I don't know about that. We know we have our fair share of problems, and need to fix things. I think it will probably be a really good game. IU and NU are very similar in the fact that their schedules are pretty soft so far. Cignetti seems like a great coach and hopefully it's an entertaining game on Saturday. Good Luck Saturday and the rest of the year. Have a few good Indiana friends and they know how to party so you guys are great people in my book. Wish I could make the trip this year.

Leodis’ take seems more reasonable than most I’ve read there. Who knows how the game goes, but like IU’s chances. The D will need to be better getting off the field than last game.

One thing a lot of outsiders don’t realize is, based on IU using 3-4 RBs regularly, none of them have gaudy numbers. Yet, regardless, these backs with this OL have been able control the ball. They also catch the ball well. As for the WRs, there aren’t many WR groups in the country with better numbers, especially next to no drops. Very impressive.

I think the game will be won or lost by our defense. I’m totally sold on our offense but I think the D needs attention . I hope CCC corrected the situation in the last 2 weeks.

I don't necessarily think Nebraska will hold Indiana to less than 20 points, but I would be shocked if its more than 24 to 27.

You can poo poo whatever you want, but Nebraska will have the best defense Indiana has faced this season by a mile, and since I did google coach Cignetti like he asked, I can safely claim Nebraska will have the most talented and best overall defense Cignetti has ever faced in his 13 seasons as a Head College Football Coach.

The Huskers have 6 defensive starters who will get drafted next Spring, and Sophomore DE James Williams (who isn't draft eligible) looks like he's going to become a future 1st Round Edge Rusher.

Nebraska's Special Teams play are an abomination against God and Country. I would be more shocked if Indiana fails to block a punt or kick vs. the Huskers than I would if they did.

Welcome ! I have some Nebraska fans/friends also. I’ll say one thing , they travel, not only for football, but volleyball! Couldn’t believe the number of fans at the vb game I went to.

I'd like the yrs of 76"-81".
Those yrs Indiana basketball was up 6 pts
Walking off the bus...
agreed. I was just trying to pick an arbitrary year when both IU bball and Nebraska Fball were in sync, both fading in the twilight of past glory years. Felt like once Cheney and crew graduated in 1993, IU bball joined Neb fball into the slow fade downwards.

yeah as an IU bball fan, I both respect capt bonzai's ability on the floor...and also glad as hell we don't have to face him anymore. type of kid who wouldn't be picked first second or third in a pickup game based on appearances, but 10 min later he's making fools of everyone who didn't pick him. IU had no one quick enough to guard him. Period.

I agree, should be a good game. This will be IU's toughest test so far, and could be our toughest all year (not counting OSU).

I believe this will be a great game.
To the Huskers headed over. Hope you have a safe trip both ways to B-town.
If the freshman QB can hold up, anyone's game. Big if for me. We got a decent D, and I expect to get to him.
Conversely, if the Senior QB gets rattled, wild ride. They have a D but I don't expect a rattled Sr. QB.
Things feel different with CCC. Fun.
I expect to win by 17, about like NW. Neb a bit better but we are home not road like NW.
Go Hoosiers!

Easily the most exciting Husker basketball player of the last 20 seasons (which isn't saying a lot). But the way he always shot the ball vs. Indiana was pure insanity.

In fact, Husker fans use Keisei vs. Indiana analogies to explain levels of dominance.

Trust me, he’s not the first B1G bball player to go off on IU. I swear, it seemed as though Ron Harper jr. did it a few times, including a last second shot to beat IU in Assembly Hall a couple years ago.

Ron Harper did the same thing to us. Dude killed us for some reason and then disappeared. Pretty funny.

Should be a good match up then, because I suspect this is the best offense Nebraska will have faced, by quite a bit .

Both IU and NE have played garbage schedules. Really hard to know how good either actually is. Should be a fun game.

Yeah our SOS up to this point sucks but in years past we would still only be probably 3-3 at best.
We went 4 OT’s with Akron just one year ago, this team would beat Akron by 40+

Nebraska definitely has the best D we will have faced so far, but they have inflated stats from playing a weak schedule. Our O is the best they will have faced by a country mile, yet we have also not faced murderer's row by any means. Their O will score, our D will bend and, hopefully, not break too often. I see them driving on us, but if we can hold them to FG's then we win comfortably. If they score TD's then this could go down to the wire. A sellout crowd on Homecoming will help IU immensely. The Rock will be rockin' and I expect us to score early and often. If Nebraska keeps up with us, this goes to the wire in the 4th. I still think we win, but there is no doubt this is the best team we will have faced so far this season.

I hope the Nebraska football players come to Memorial Stadium thinking exactly like most of their fanbase at this point: IU hasn't played anyone with a winning record and Cig has never coached a game against a defense the likes of NEB. However, Nebraska fans need only look back to 2019 when the IU coach (first ever college head coach) with no record of competing against any defense the likes of the vaunted blackshirts, walked away with a W in front of 90,000 Neb fans and their team dressed all in black. That year, IU came into the game with wins over Ball St., E. Ill., UConn, Rutgers (1-5), Maryland (3-3) and losses to #6 Ohio State and #25 MSU. Granted, both teams are better than that 2019 season. This should be a really good, competitive football game. Go HOOSIERS !!!
