2025 Schedule

I disagree. The Notre Dame home-home was announced in the Spring of 2021. They entered the Louisville contract in 2015 during the CKW tenure but didn't cancel it until last year. And they've already got away games scheduled in coming years at Virginia & UCONN.

It seems to me that the school at least had ambitions for a stronger schedule coming off of CKW tickling the edge of success & 2019/2020 breakout years (or at least what we thought were).

I think they're going to probably head back in that direction, scheduling wise, but we shouldn't get too far out in front of our skis with it.
Your last sentence is where I'm currently sitting. I don't want to make a move regarding the OOC schedule just yet.

We lose a ton of key players after this year. I'm sure Cignetti will pursue and land quality replacements but let's don't play a NFL schedule because of this season's success.

Ohio State played Akron, Western Michigan and Marshall this year.

Michigan played East Carolina, UNLV and Bowling Green last year.
Exactly. Before the season, people were complaining that we had both OSU and MI still on the schedule. People were guaranteeing 2 losses with that situation. Some analysts were projecting Nebraska as the 3rd best team in the conference pre-season. Strength of schedule changes as the year progresses and teams rise and fall.
Nobody highlights that the SEC only plays 8 conference games and almost always throws a pud team in there around the 10th or 11th game of the season to give themselves a break.
