The Pulitzer is a joke. They should have ended the award after they gave it to The Goldfinch. I revile that steaming pile of crap.
Or maybe you just have shitty taste. I loved the Goldfinch. She’s one of my favorite authors.
When you have a minute list 5 of your favorite books. I want to see if we have any similar tastes. I detest chick lit and when I want something light I read Murder mysteries. I read a decent amount of non fiction, but more fiction.

I’m not sure I’ll ever read it again. But I still think about it.
I’m surprised you liked English Patient. I like it a lot and The Road. Didn’t care for Gilead and Remains of the Day was fine. Haven’t read Stoner or the sense of an Ending.
I tried to watch the movie and struggled to get through it. Took me 2 nights and 3 sessions.
Won't watch it. Impossible to capture on screen what McCarthy was doing with his language in that book, I think.
Odaantje is a gifted poet so his imagery and sentence-level writing is always top notch. I think the English Patient is the best structured novel he's written and the pacing of the plot works. His others I found a bit boring.
Let's end this silly slap fight about who reads the most pretentious books and talk about what everyone is interested in.

My kids regift this book every birthday to eachother. My dad gave it to my oldest some time ago and said it was one of his favorite books growing up. They read the first few pages and couldn't continue. The literally wrap it up and essentially the book version of being Rickrolled.
I went to see the movie Life of Chuck with the family for Father’s Day. Honestly I’m still processing the meaning. With that said it’s really well done. The movie is narrated in three acts told in reverse chronological order by Nick Offerman. I should warn you the first part of the movie (Act III) is quite heavy and I saw 2 couples walk out. If you’re able to handle the beginning. the rest of the movie pays off and leaves you wanting more and like me thinking about it the next day.
Started watching Common Side Effects today, which got good reviews. Only two episodes in, but it's interesting so far.
Alright, for you guys that like slapstick comedies and/or hockey, check this out. I'm only a couple episodes in, but very entertaining. Free on Youtube
I'm struggling with Liam Neeson in that role. The trailer doesn't really do it for me. Maybe he pulls it off, but I don't see it.
Yea, I agree about Liam. I'm just a sucker for slapstick comedies. My childhood consisted of Airplane, Naked Gun, Blazing Saddles and Spaceballs which I think just announced a sequel too.
Tires on Netflix is surprisingly entertaining. It’s light and without much substance but I think you’d like it eppy
I am a sucker for slapstick too, just add in the Stooges. I will watch the new movie but it looks amazingly bad.
Saw Ballerina tonight. Ana de Armas for the win. Some inventive fight scenes that I was surprised by. Good settings. Not much of a plot but it is what it is.
