Most Layoffs Since 2009

People in his town aren't going to be going to the Ozarks as much on vacation...

and the Red Lobster may close.
Speaking of sea food......

On Fox, they had an interview with a Shrimper in Louisiana. 3rd generation. He claims they were shutting down because so much shrimp was being imported. Very happy, personally, that the tariffs are being put in.

So he couldn't sell his fresh local shrimp over imported shrimp? wonder what his mark up was on it.

Spin away boys. I told you all he'd screw things up and I've been right. Happening faster than I thought. I'm not wussies like you. I'll tell you my trades as they happen. I'm going to average back in starting today in 300-400k chunks. Easiest money ever. A few clicks of the mouse.

Final hint on jobs in the coming month. Not going to be good

Red lobster. You mouth breathers are funny.

That's great that you have such optimism in the economy that you'd jump back in the stock market!

Kudos! MAGA!

The shrimpers cars, homes, electronics, etc. are going to offset their upcoming boon. Oops, no real gains here.

BUT WHAT ABOUT CRAB LEGS????????

...in China they pay slave wages. It's because workers are slaves there.
You're a bit behind the times. I know, since a lot of chemistry research jobs have for 25 years been contracted out to China. I have visited Chinese labs in Shanghai.

It made sense at first: you could get 10 Chinese chemists working all day in the lab in a highly educated area, Shanghai or Beijing, for the cost of 1 American.

Then Chinese started appreciating the wonder of having a salary, getting an nicer apartment, getting a car.

Then you could get 5 Chinese chemists working all day in the lab for the cost of 1 American.
a few years later...
Then you could get 3 Chinese chemists working all day in the lab for the cost of 1 American.
a few years later...
Then you could get 1.5 Chinese chemists working all day in the lab for the cost of 1 American.

At that point it made no sense to seek out Chinese chemists. So... you go to India and get 10 for 1. Then Indian chemists started appreciating the wonder of having a salary, getting an nicer apartment, getting a car.... See where that goes?

Oh please there’s a reason 85 percent of all the goods in Walmart are made in China. They have an enormous labor pool with cheap labor which allows for mass production economies of scale etc. throw in more lax regs and there’s no comparison to here. Your head is up your academic la la land removed from reality fat ass per usual

Imported shrimp is farm raised. Significant difference in quality(crap) therefore cheaper.
Worst thing I ever did was watch a show on shrimp farming in Southeast Asia. Yuk. Now spend more for fresh caught.

Not sure I trust anything. They did a news research feature in Florida along the coast. 7 out of 10 restaurants serving "fresh" caught fish were actually using farm raised.

Does that mean Chinese chem research output has decreased?

Just watched Super Size Me 2. Thought it was pretty good.

Most of my experience is in food and pharmaceuticals. There is a reason I try to grow my own, hunt my own or source as much locally as possible.

I think they're more concerned about staying in business than they are buying a new car or a new phone.

I know that's a tough concept for you to grasp.
