Woodson is 63 and has never coached college basketball or recruited HS players before.
That ship has already sailed.
He will retire an NBA coach or assistant coach.

How about an IU guy like Woodson take over a college program and have a modicum of success.

Because if any IU guy has shown any promise (like dominated a conference and gone on a tourney run) I guarantee you we'd all be united in wanting him here.

But they haven't so we're not.

Alford is the closest as he had a really good stretch at New Mexico, but has been relatively worse every other place he's gone and you know, he's got the whole 'I think he's innocent' when it turned out he wasn't thing hanging over him.

Dude played for Knight when there was no three point shot and no shot clock and has basically been a life long assistant coach.

There's nothing wrong with that, but I gotta think if Woodson was this high potential coach he'd be desired as a head coach in the NBA.
