Only 8 teams in the CFP. Take the 8 highest with a provision that the no conference can have more than 3 teams. No automatic entries for any school or conference.
Rank and seed the teams 1 - 8.
No byes, no home field games.
First round games 1 plays 8, 2 plays 7, ect. First round games are played 2 weeks after Thanksgiving weekend at the Rose, Sugar, Orange and Cotton bowls. Second round games are played 10 days at the Fiesta and Peach bowls. Championship game is 10 days later at a rotating site.
I realize the wind is blowing towards more, not less, teams in the CFP, but realistically does the 12th or 14th or 16th seed have much of a chance to win 3, 4 or 5 CFP games - no.
Continue with the minor bowls as long as they are financially viable for the host and participants. Raise the minimum number of wins for bowl eligibility to 7.
Allow teams not in the CFP or bowl games to practice until the CFP’s are over.
Portal opens one week after the the CFP is over.
Appointment a CFP board of directors and commissioner (chair of B o D) to oversee the college football, including the transfer portal and player compensation.
Go Hoosiers….cant wait for the 2025 season to start.
