It’s right in front if all of all of us. Called stats.

It’s a two man team. One is an extremely talented freshman pushed into the spotlight by an injury. He’s played well but is not, say, Jalen Pickett steady. Boo Buie steady.

The other is about as talented and consistent a producer as there is in the country (and IU history). Absolutely should be the centerpiece.

Race/Kopp/Galloway/Bates… any scout shaking in their boots at that list?

I mean, they are the definition of inconsistent, sometimes great, but as equally lackluster their entire careers. One game on, one (or three) off.
In Bates’ case, a Haley’s comet of production.

They are experienced kids (Kopp one of the most experienced in B10 history, Race has got to getting there), capable of “good games” sure, but high-level rocks as senior B10 starters? Dependable? Steady producers? Eye of the tiger types? Clutch? Totally max-ing out their role? Making up for meh offensive numbers as a defensive monster or something?

Are they… stars? Have they ever been? Even close? For any more than one blip at a time?

No. But if they are ever gonna put it all together and shine as one deadly, multi-threat unit… sure would nice to see this coming week. Absolutely!

I’m not holding my breath though… we have A LOT of stats that say don’t bother.
