Let’s Get The Facts out There On Trump’s Russia/Putin Obsession

I don't think you can point to any one thing causing inflation. South America which supplied most of the grain to China during the trade war is suffering a very pronounced drought and the war in Ukraine is causing another big spike to the prices of grains. During the Covid crisis we printed and gave away too much money-as though there wouldn't be a problem later with that approach (it got us through the moment so it probably made sense).

It does seem like we are heading into a very dark period worldwide but this wasn't caused by Joe any more than Covid was Trump's fault. I do not say the same thing for villains like Putin.
You made some good points that I agree with Bill. Good Post!!!!

The obsession with Trump is baffling. In one sentence you nailed Trump. No more to it than that
It’s not baffling. He’s likely to be the Republican nominee again. He injects himself into every single American issue. He still has political rallies. His cult still thinks he walks on water and is the rightful president. That’s hard to ignore.

"and is the rightful president."
and now 60% of the country is feeling that the election was stolen... so maybe the cult has a valid point.

Or let me rephrase that word Stolen.... maybe not stolen.... but I'll say it like Biden was elected unfairly and a lot of Election Laws in states were broken during the elections.

It’s not a valid point. There is zero evidence of the election being stolen after multiple investigations. The cult listens to their leader and his Big Lie.

But so what. He's a citizen of Palm Beach. He holds no office. Influence. Worrying about influence with all of the challenges we face today, today, presently, is a silly obsession. As much as segments of the left denounce "cultists" their obsession with Trump is every bit as bizarre

Actually if you want to know how I'm doing personally, well I'm doing great! I own some farms and will make more money this year than ever before due to the high grain prices but if you think that Trump or Biden control the economy then you need a course in economics. Congress gives us the budgets.
You want to help the group understand AgEcon? Talk about your input costs now over 2 years ago. Talk about fuel, fertilizer, herbicides, parts, service, insurance, health care, debt service, cash rents, labor etc.

Facts:

• Praised Putin constantly, called him a "strong leader", has peddled statements like "he's done a really great job outsmarting our country"

• Trump dismissed and cast doubt about Russian hacking, particularly when the U.S determined that Russia hacked the DNC in 2016, while ironically enough, he encouraged Russian cyber attacks on national TV saying, "Russia, if you're listening, I hope you're able to find the 30,000 emails that are missing,"

• When addressing Russian election interference and cyber attacks, Trump proclaimed "I don't see any reason why it would be Russia" after speaking directly with Putin, defending Russia and trusting Putin over our own intelligence agencies. Later he "corrected" himself, claiming that he meant to say "wouldn't" instead of would

• Trump suggested the U.S. work directly with Russia on cybersecurity

• Almost directly after the 2016 election, Trump sought to weaken U.S. sanctions on Russia, while he was even open to lifting sanctions

• Trump dismissed the notion that Putin was a "killer", downplaying the idea that Putin resorts to using violence and oppressive tactics to crush political opponents. He defended Putin, rationalizing his ruthless despotism in the process, declaring, "There are a lot of killers. Do you think our country is so innocent?"

• Trump shared highly classified U.S. intelligence with Russian officials in the Oval Office in 2017

• Trump repeated Kremlin talking points related to the Russian annexation of Crimea, reiterating things like, "The people of Crimea, from what I've heard, would rather be with Russia than where they were."

• Trump constantly attacked NATO, aligning himself with Putin

• Trump thanked Putin for expelling hundreds of U.S. diplomats as a retaliation for sanctions

• Trump imposed tariffs on Canadian steel and aluminum while Republicans were working on a deal with Oleg Deripaska, one of Putin’s most trusted oligarchs, on an alumina plant in Kentucky

• According to congressional testimony, Trump declined to publicly condemn a Russian attack against Ukrainian military vessels in November 2018, even though the State Department prepared a statement for him

• Trump congratulated and gave legitimacy to Putin's re election win in 2018, a victory said to "lack genuine competition"

• Sergei Skripal, an ex Russian spy that defected to the UK, was poisoned. Sanctions were announced, Trump attempted to rescind them, while asserting that the U.S. was being "too tough on Putin"

• When congress passed new sanctions against Russia in 2017, Trump was very reluctant to signing the bill, and probably wouldn't have signed it if the bill didn't pass with veto-proof majorities in both houses

• In 2017 it was reported that Trump was considering returning spy bases to Russia

• Trump praised and highlighted pro-Russian leaders in Europe. Far right European leaders with close ties to Putin. He even met a Kremlin ally at the Whitehouse

• When Trump withdrew troops from Syria, it gave Russia and Putin an opportunity to control abandoned U.S. outposts and checkpoints

• Trump froze U.S. aide for Ukraine in it's war against Russian proxies. He repeated Russian disinformation surrounding Ukraine as well

• Trump made requests to bring Russia back into the G7 and invited Putin to the 2020 G7 summit
Let's talk about why the US is still importing oil from Russia.

* Hunter got millions from Russian oligarch

* The Big Guy got 10%

* Biden doesn't dare push Putin too much or Vlad will spill the evidence.

What does plandemic mean?
I know that you may disagree....but it is my belief... that the Covid-19 Virus is a bio-weapon that was produced in the WuHan lab, and funded by USA taxpayer dollars, that Anthony Fauci diverted through 3rd party paths to pay for the Gain of Function research.

Now.... I won't go as far as saying that the Planned Part had anything to do with the election.... but I will say that the planned part of it was to help the Big Pharma and Politcians that had investments in Big Pharma., to have a financial gain in all of this. (this can be backed up by all the patents that Fauci has his name on, dealing with the Sars-Covid-2)

Somehow if Joe were Muslim I don't think you'd be advocating for him to take a stance on his religious beliefs. Nor would you want him to legislate based on them.

Again, I don't know Joe Biden's personal view on abortion. If a woman asked him whether or not she personally should get an abortion, would he tell her she shouldn't because it's a sin? I don't know.

All that said, Biden can personally be ensconced in his faith without imposing his beliefs on his legislative duties.
Oh, give me a freaking break.

Who cares what his 'personal view on abortion' is? I see he's not opposing it - that's all I need to know about him.

Zeke..... the evidence is there and more and more of it is being exposed all the time.

Sadly......we're never going to agree on any of this topic, when the investigations are done my the very same people that stole the election. Of course their investigations are going to deny the elections were stolen, because they have to cover up their wrong doing.

Heres some truth for ya this morning: Its a pattern of lies...

Joe Biden now pushes:
• Made in America
• Fund the Police
• Close the Border

When President Trump says this, they call it dangerous nationalism.

Joe Biden said we need to “secure the border.”

So why’d he stop building the wall?
Why’d he stop the “Remain in Mexico” program?
Why’d he incentivize illegal immigration?

Today and everyday for the foreseeable future America will buy 600,000 barrels of oil from the Putin
Still happening after the SOTU

Democrats have caused a crime crisis by “defunding the police but now electing DA’s that want to pick and choose what they want to uphold
Now they want to fund the police????

Joe Biden defends violating the teachings of the Catholic Church by promoting abortion.
"As a Catholic, why do you support abortion?"
Biden: "I don't want to get in a debate with you on theology ... I'm not going to make a judgement for other people."

Thats just a few...

This admin won't DO SH!T! But you all soaked up that BS speech and alot of it was Trumps actions that Joe already UN DID. Now he's gonna redo all that? Right...Its like a time share presentation from hell that you buy and can't get rid of it.
These are all good points.

Why at the end of the day farmers will make a lot more money this year. I realize running the machinery, fertilizer, herbicide will cost more but the return will be so much higher with the caveat that need good weather but that's why you buy crop insurance if you do have a bad weather. BTW, 2 years ago farmers were getting by because we got all kinds of welfare money from the government, it probably was the biggest welfare program in the history of this country, if they didn't get that many would have gone broke. I think it was wrongfully administered as there was no cap on how much you or a corporate farm could receive. Farm subsidies were originally set-up during the 1930's to keep people from losing there small individual 40 and 80 acres farms not the massive 50,000-acre operations we see in some cases today.

The price of fossil fuel is the driving factor for the inflation we are experiencing.
And because it's so high we will be getting the fracking operations going again. They shut down when the price of oil dropped below $50/barrel. We will go back to $3.00/gallon gas soon. It's not going to be at $2.00 again as nobody can make any money at the price.

Jeezus God. Trump's own Attorney General announced that there was no widespread fraud that impacted the election outcome. And Trump lost every audit. And every recount. And every lawsuit. And a bunch of Republicans were involved in many of those processes and findings.

I can't believe you - - or anyone - - is still questioning this.

I rarely post on this forum, due to lack of time and honestly I don't keep up with the current administration due to lack of interest. Recently though I have had some time to peruse some of the threads and I'm amazed that 15 months into the current Presidential term there is still a large narrative centered around President Trump? Again,
I rarely post but have been looking mainly due to the Ukrainian conflict which is rarely discussed without being a total cluster of anti-Trump or anti-Biden talk.

"losing there small individual 40 and 80 acres farms not the massive 50,000-acre operations we see in some cases today."

Bill.... just a thought.....maybe the 40-80 acre family run farms are a lot more of what we need today.

Kinda like the small family businesses that are being run out by the big box stores and such.

I'm thinking like: Giving money back to the employess of the small businesses... as opposed to giving the money to the Corporations shareholders and execs.... while their employees live on minimum wages.

I see it as the financial "Circle of Life". There is a balance to it. The owners should pay a decent wage to the employees, so that the employees can go out and put that money back into the owners products... hence the financial cycle. When the Owners hold all of the money, and the employees have very little to none, who is going to come and buy the owners product.... to continue the cycle.

That's why I like Small Business and those 40-80 acre farm families.... it spreads the money around and is not held in the coffers of the big corporate conglomerates.

That's just an opinion on it.

I quote your comment:
“He just thinks in terms of what is good for him personally.”

My reply was directed at what you Stated in your comment.

That’s what it has to do with what you said.
Not really hard to understand. Everything is either about personal profit or political expediency with Trump, and always has been. It's a brand, and often he takes positions diametrically opposed to positions he once personally promoted because it will either make him $$ or votes...

One of the culprits is corporate greed, and Reich nails the how and why pretty succinctly in this video.

A prime example- auto sales...

Do you guys really believe this shit you post day after day after day? Huge ego yes, he lost wealth being President and took no pay. Biden has made his entire fortune out of being a low grade politician 47-48 years of it! How did he get so much money then? Pelosi lets look at her wealth. People like you are so immersed in hatred of a personality that facts escape you. I'm not some huge fan of Trump's personality but it's amazing how it could get so bad in just over a yr under your guy.

One of the reasons is the cost of gas and goods and labor went up. The materials we use to make goods increased in price - so too did shipping (5.9 percent began in Jan), and labor. Wide swaths of the small biz economy is getting whacked.

I feel like car sales are more of supply and demand. I was looking to buy a new car recently. Two dealers had the car I wanted marked up $5k above MSRP. Two other dealers had no markup.

I asked the dealer closest to my house if they would waive the $5k markup if I put a $5k deposit down that day (to be put on a 2-3 month waiting list). They declined and said someone will pay their price.

What did I write that isn't accurate?

And what's really hilarious is you of all people, the guy of the daily meltdown, accusing someone else of being triggered.

Finally, if you're going to lob an insult, use correct English. Otherwise you just look stupid or, in your specific case, more stupid than usual. "Your" is possessive. "You're" is a contraction that means "you are." So, you're brain-fvcked.
I really don't care its a blog so there, they're, their hahahaha

I still want to buy a new car this year. Dealerships should be outlawed. I know that's not possible but that's my attitude right now
I only skimmed his post but it appears silly going by profit of a single car. My buddy owns a used car dealership. He's paying more for cars (at auction and elsewhere) and having a hard time getting inventory. So while he's charging more per car he's selling fewer cars because he can't get the inventory

I'm curious as to what is wrong with this? The dealership may be crazy to pass on sales but that is their choice and if they fail due to those choices so be it. There are companies that make bad business decisions daily and fail. Until someone forced you to purchase the higher priced car you should be fine, most cars are bought out of want not need so it is easy to drive off the lot in what you drove in on.

I can't believe that you believe he "Lost wealth" or that he took no pay. You say you're not a Trumper, but you refuse to accept facts regarding how he enriched himself during his Presidency? Open secrets (founded 1983) by Dem Frank Church and GOP Hugh Scott tracks finances of politicians. They analyze financial statements submitted by the people/organizations involved...They report that Trump made over $200 Million from foreign businesses interests alone, since 2016. You think him refusing the paltry 400.000/yr he gets as POTUS is some sort of noteworthy financial sacrifice?

That's not even counting the MILLIONS that the Trump Org made in hospitality fees and various other expenses they charged all of the various pro-Trump lobbying groups, PACs and GOP connected groups for use of TRUMP PROPERTIES facilities (hotels, convention centers, golf courses etc...) during Trump's Presidency...

No sane person would ever connect Donald Trump with Philanthropy. And you claim he "lost" wealth being president? They don't make a laugh emoji strong enough for that one...

Corporate greed is bs. If there's a shortage of cars and a shortage of houses costs of both will necessarily go up to consumers. Would you rather sell a 100 cars for 5k or 20 cars for $10,000. Because they only have 20 to sell and are charging $10k doesn't mean it's corporate greed that they jacked up prices

If "inflation" is such a huge issue (and the reasons Corporations give to justify raising prices) then why are those same corporations making RECORD profits? And why aren't they passing some of that excess profit in to increasing pay/benefits for workers, or assistance to the people buying their products?

Did you watch Reich's video? He lays the hypocrisy out pretty well, when companies making record profits are using "inflation" as justification to increase their costs.
