Leak of Roe Wade Ruling

The bar is so low in Washington that if the person can talk without screaming and sounding like a raging ahole he's deemed competent. Pete has done nothing to give people belief he'd be a good leader. In truth he's proven to be terrible. He stayed home. The one thing we learn growing up is that you have to show up. Then add his race baiting virtue signaling bs and he'd be as big a turn off as AOC and the rest.

The only people I ever hear say anything good about Pete are on this board. I'd vote for countless Dems. Have in the past. Pete is the very last person from either party I would vote for. And in truth anyone associated with this admin needs to get out of politics. They've been that bad with their vapid virtue signaling.

Lie is a pretty strong word.

Was it though?

His analogy (at least to me) was the 'weekend trip to the zoo' couldn't be discussed, not that it couldn't be stated.

So if another kid went 'why do you have two dads' or 'that's wrong that you have two dads' or 'my dad said your two dads are freaks and are going to burn in hell' or whatnot...the teacher has no power to step in because that would be 'discussion' that's not allowed.

Is that not correct?
If you wanna watch the video again and give me the timestamp I’ll look at it again. Meanwhile, I believe Pete’s communication was the kid can’t talk about his two fathers. That’s patently false and it’s a lie if you’re going to say it in a public forum like that.

Those few friends I do talk politics with can't stand Pete either. I suspect Pete would have zero chance in a national election; thankfully. The Dems are in trouble. Watching Warren this week she looks like one of those crazy memes of women screaming hysterically. And she's in the top 3 for the Dems for 2024. Dems are in trouble from all the virtue-signaling bs.

I will say this about DeSantis and Pete tho. They are both young. And that's a really good thing. Although I'll take Make America Florida over Make America South Bend, it's good to get young people into politics. Government should be a calling. The highest order of job and we need people in their prime. Serve and then move on. No more Biden's etc.

And my kid's in 5th grade jackass. I better not be a grandpa any time soon lol. Although yesterday was the first time her and her rotten crew got to roam freely without parental supervision. Two hours of wandering the stores. When she got home her face was lit up like she'd spent a month in Disney. Said it was the best day of her life. Bad sign. I remember getting out into the world at that age. It was the first time we got into trouble.

There was a catchall arcade called the Dragon's Lair. The front was video games; the middle was war board games; and then in the back was a big group of Marvs who would play Dungeons and Dragons. Well across the street from the arcade was our grocery store. One day we ran out of quarters for games. Pole position and I think it was Dragon's Lair were the games we were playing, altho I believe that was the first 50 cent game. As we were walking around we noticed the Pepsi truck at the grocery store was open and full of 8 packs of empty bottles. Well we pulled a bunch of those 8 packs off the truck, hid them behind the store, then went in to redeem them. It worked so we went back and did it again. What an antiquated thing. This time we got busted. Called the police. Got taken down to the station. Scared Straight. 5th or 6th grade. Can't remember.

Wow could you translate that in to actual English so we could try and figure out what you are actually trying to say?

Damn, why do you have to come across as a normal person? You make people really have to stretch to say bad things about you and that just isn't right!

Question... how many people outside of your circle do you talk politics with and in that same question, do the people in your circle have the same political lean as you?

I generally don't talk politics with the people that i don't see eye to eye with because we just go around in circles. I just wanted to know if others are like that as well.

It's very strange. My "work" circle is heavily republican with regard to the company vendors and owners that i deal with regularly. And they talk politics quite a lot probably because they know they are alike. Strong republicans. My community circle is the polar opposite. Heavily democrat. Still signs all over the neighborhood. And they talk politics more than you would expect because they are so congruent. So I believe you are right.

What I've gleaned; and it's no revelation, is that to garner middle of the road supporters or crossovers you need a middle of the road candidate with no baggage that will offend the other side. I can't stand Pete because he's Pete and everything I don't like in entitlement politics. But many I know will disqualify him for his lifestyle. Period. Pete has no chance. I don't mind the gay part at all. The best neighbors you can ever get are a gay DINK couple. They will keep their shit tight. Similarly Trump is despised in my neighborhood. Despised. He will never get any of them to crossover. That's why the extremes in the party do a disservice to the greater well-being

Board wargames are my favorite, I just find that when I say I play wargames people generally have no clue, so I say D&D which most have heard of. I played it a fair amount, but not nearly as much as Squad Leader or Russian Campaign.

I used to walk over and check it out. They were always adults. Not kids. The details of the pieces were incredible. Do places like that still exist? Or is it all online now? They had a thriving community. A bunch of profs from the local U too. They could walk to it. That whole strip was poppin. Pizza joint then Dragon's Lair then Ben Franklin where you could load up on penny candy

There are various gaming locations. In Bloomington, both game stores have gaming areas. In Indy, and bigger cities, gaming cafes/restaurants/bars exist.

I grew up in Bloomington. My neighbors, thus friends, were pretty much all professors. Professorial social justice warrior types. I got a very early taste of cancel culture trying to communicate with some of my teenage friends as an adult and it was from them I learned the last bastion of liberal bigotry is Scientology. I’m talking about real people. Concerned citizens. Hard-working, successful, able, intelligent. Lawyers, doctors, professors, scientists.

That’s why you mainly see me here trying to tease out the common sense common ground. (With my serious posts.)

One of my more noteworthy conversations was with one of IU’s few members of the National Academy of Sciences, a family friend, someone well-versed in the scientific method and empirical knowledge. At length it became apparent he actually knew nothing about Scientology. I asked him where he got his information and his answer was one word, “Newspapers.” I appreciated his honesty. The irony was his unabashed certainty of his “knowledge.”

Wow. That must have been something growing up there. Lucky I think. I genuinely loved living there
