Last week began with the US breaking from its longstanding European allies and siding with Russia and North Korea in opposing a UN resolution condemning Moscow’s actions and supporting Ukraine’s territorial integrity. It ended with the embarrassing and disgraceful ambush of Zelensky in the Oval Office. And now this stunning acknowledgment from the Kremlin.

God help America.

I'm not saying this is the case, but at this point it would surprise no one to find out that someone in the Trump Administration is a KGB operative.

According to Trump, Putin really had to go through a lot because of Russia, Russia, Russia. It practically brought tears to my eyes hearing him explain it. Poor Vlad, no wonder he thinks Zelenskyy is being mean.

Putin "suffered" similarly to IU fans when they beat Purdue and Boilermaker fans complain about calls, call IU cheaters, etc.

I know you take Trump's word as gospel and that you love uncited, unverified and anonymous sources on twitter, but you really should go back and look into how that investigation actually turned out.
that would be too much work because anything that doesn't come out of Trump's mouth is fake news...how convenient.

No. I explained it. You should read. Are you promoting a regime change in Russia? Ready to send troops?

If not, do we just not talk to him like Biden did and let the killing continue?
Amazing how all of the other UN leaders agree with your take..

Oh nevermind, they must all be old and senile and just not smart enough to see the way of the commie orange dog ;)

That was Trump's "poor Putin" part of his rant at the end of that embarrassment in the Oval Office. It was incredible. During this thing Trump took offense on Putin's part for anything negative Zelenskyy said about Putin. While in the hell would Zelenskyy have anything but negative statements about the man who invaded his country? Our President has a strange friendship with Putin and sympathy for him over Zelenskyy.

I took Ego Man’s Putin rant to be Ego Man’s butthurt that anyone helped him beat Hillary.

Trump says he has a phenomenal relationship with Putin. I take him at his word. In that case, why is the risk of the US being involved in either WW3 or a nuclear catastrophe even mentioned? Two leaders with a great relationship are going to annihilate each other? I don't buy it.

Those who talk about the Mueller investigation as if there wasn't anything at all found and included in the report, haven't read the report, or they ignore what the investigation did find. While there was no "collusion" found (collusion isn't a crime - conspiracy is), it found that the Russians (Putin) tried to influence the election in President Trump's favor. Whether it tipped the scales or not is not known, but Putin wanted Trump to win. Why? What we're seeing now is providing a good clue about why.

Our intelligence community and the Republican led Senate Committee found the same - Putin wanted Trump to win and tried to influence the election in Trump's favor.

Stick to the facts. You're cool with what happened last week, and with the Kremlin's public declaration that US foreign policy now largely aligns with their vision? Yes or no.

No, I am not cool with Z ambushing Trump with demands and picture props. And no, I am not cool with what the Kremlin says.

I am also not cool with people dying everyday. I am not cool with religious persecution. I am not cool with spending billions.

But Trump has to call Z a dictator, or the Kremlin is giddy, or whatever to get a deal done, then fine.

Sounds like to me you are just fine with the killing as long the optics are good. Biden didn’t cave and didn’t negotiate with a dictator. Wow, he's so awesome. Only several hundred thousand died with that strategy.

LOL

Who set it up as a press extravaganza? Not Z. Who ambushed anybody? Not Z. This was yet another PR stunt on Trump's revenge tour. Z didn't deliver dirt on Biden at Trump's bidding, so he must pay. Shameful. Petty. 3rd grader-ish. Another day in Trumplandia.

Meanwhile, the world was watching, and Zelensky gained renewed commitments from European leaders. While that is clearly in the United States’ interests, it’s not what Ego Man was expecting and he doesn’t see it as a victory. Therefore, he sees as a loss. For him it’s binary. If he saw it as a victory, he’d be touting it as such. When he loses, he goes on the attack.

Whatever. You clearly didn't watch the entire 50 minutes. We won't agree, so just leave it at that.

Now, let's hear your plan or the dems plan to resolve the conflict.

Vance lit the fuse last Friday, and then Trump piled on. The ambush came from Trump/Vance, not Zelensky. Get your facts straight.

And don't be an idiot. No one's fine with an ongoing war and massive casualties. But Putin's history proves he can't be trusted. A meaningful and lasting peace agreement requires security guarantees for Ukraine or Putin will invade again in a year or two under some bullshit pretext.

Why don't you ever fact check Trump?

Trump said the US gave Ukraine $300B
Fact: $114B

Trump said the US gave Ukraine $200B more than Europe
Fact: Europe has given Ukraine $140B more than the USA

Trump said >50% of the money from the USA is missing
Fact: The USA has failed to deliver >50% of the weapons promised

Trump said that Zelenskyy refuses to allow elections
Fact: The Ukrainian constitution forbids elections under a state of war

Trump said that Zelenskyy is wildly unpopular in Ukraine
Fact: Z has a 59% approval rating, vs. 49% for Trump

Lies, lies, lies, like a faucet that can't be turned off

So no solution on your part or Dems. Do nothing because Putin can't be trusted. Got it. Let the killing continue!!

The solution is to broker a peace deal other than one that gives Russia EVERYTHING that they want, one that sets Russia up for their next invasion of a sovereign European country.

Are you dense? The solution is a comprehensive, meaningful deal that provides security guarantees for Ukraine and sanctions for Russia should they breach it.

I posted (above) Rubio's "Somebody please get me the fvck out of here" photo from last Friday, and I'll follow up. In 2023, Rubio stated that if Russia could expand its territory in Ukraine by outlasting the patience and support of western countries, it would set a dangerous precedent for China to invade Taiwan or other territories it claims belongs to them.

Rubio, at the time, was also sharply critical of DeSantis when he described the war in Ukraine as a "territorial dispute" and that the US should avoid "further entanglement." Rubio said then that Russia was trying to take out the Ukrainian government and control the entire country and that its aggression could not be settled with conventional treaties and peace agreements.

Finally, it's important to note that, a few days after the Russian attack in 2022, Rubio said he could not understand why the US "can't begin to openly say [to Ukraine] that we will support them as long as they are willing to fight." What changed? Hint. There's a new inhabitant of Washington DC. He's 250 pounds, orange, consistently full of shit, and virtually every prominent, elected Republican is afraid of him.

Please tell us what those security guarantees should be
