It's a little concerning to me that we are having trouble getting our PATs and FGs off. Maybe the rain had something to do with it, but I didn't notice VA having any issues.

Has anyone here made the effort to time our kicks via replay? I'm sure IU has their own idea of what perfect timing looks like, but it seems somewhere between 1.2 and 1.4 seconds typically works. Just seems odd that CTA moved CWI to Special Teams Coordinator so we'd be better at this stuff and all of a sudden we're having problems that could really cost us. Almost did on Saturday.

I don't really think it has anything to do with timing. Both times, the last guy on the line on the right just hardly moved and got beat. Not sure who, but on the PAT, I believe someone got called for a false start. It would maybe make sense that on the rekick, that same guy or another player got nervous about getting called for a false start again that it delayed their response.

Thought I read/heard an interview with Tom Allen where he said the first block was a protection issue and the second one a timing issue...

This was a recent article/taped interview. I think actually it was a taped interview.

It was in the post-game press conference. 2nd one was timing due to the FB being so wet.

Yeah, that was alarming but under the conditions they were in, I think we can withhold judgement for now. I do like the punter though.

Given the hesitance to try a field goal at the end of the half in Miami, I was really surprised they tried that kick (it was only 7 or 8 yards shorter and in far worse conditions than they had at FIU) Saturday.
