Kenneth puts us at 45.6%

I read earlier where you stated you thought IU stood to lose its entire starting 5 plus Lander and possibly Bates.
That's actually not what I said. I said that could happen. Even if that were to happen, I still think they would add players.

My actual prediction.

Likely Gone:

TJD
Race
Kopp
Stewart
Lander

Likely back:

XJ
RP
Leal
Galloway
Durr
Duncomb

50/50:

Bates
Geronimo

What on earth gives you the impression that Bates and Geronimo are leaving? Where they going?

I said 50/50.

Both players received a limited amount of playing time even though imo, they deserved significantly more. Geronimo has entered the portal before. Bates has a baby on the way back home.

Geronimo entered the portal due to a coaching change (and came back) and I don’t see Tamar transferring after a single year with a huge opportunity in front of him. Not sure where either player deserved significantly more playing time. Could argue Geronimo, but Bates did nothing to warrant more playing time over the likes of Galloway or Phinisee who came off the bench.

I think Lander and Stewart are as good as gone and can pencil in one of TJD/Race leaving but < 50% that both leave. I think TJD actually stays. I believe Kopp and Durr will be out as well.

Bates has a baby on the way. That's very significant unless they relocate to Bloomington. He deserved more PT, because someone with his talent should be allowed to play through mistakes. 15 mpg wasn't good enough. Especially for a team that didn't make the tournament.

Geronimo should have received every min that TJD and Race weren't on the court. He should have been given all of Durr's minutes.

Bates was lucky to play 15mpg, I’d say he had more than an opportunity to play through his mistakes. Guys who aren’t engaged and clueless on defense aren’t going to play. Bates was squarely in that camp.

Geronimo was the first big off the bench every game, not sure where the complaint is there?

I think the argument was that Bates should have been getting Stewart and Kopp's minutes. However both have been better on defense and their minutes were steadily declining with the improved play out of Galloway and Phin until their injuries.

Compare Branham and Bates' first 10 games this year. Very similar stats with Bates actually having the edge. Then Bates stopped being played. Went from 20 mpg down to 12 mpg. His numbers and efficiency took a huge hit. A large portion of Bates' minutes on the year came when Woodson had the stupid all sub lineup in as well.

Geronimo played 12 mpg. You seriously don't think he should have played more? These are the two guys that are supposed to lead the team next year.

Bates was less efficient than either Kopp or Stewart on the offensive end and entirely worse on the defensive end if you can believe it. Woody said from day 1 this teams identity was going to be defense and Bates was lost from the getgo. It’s one thing letting a freshman play through a couple turnovers or poor shot selection, it’s another to let a complete liability on defense play extended minutes. And it’s not like Tamar was lighting it up offensively either.

TJD averaged 32 minutes per game and Race 29. That leaves 19 minutes at the 4 or 5 available. Of those minutes Geronimo played 12 per game. There were times TJD and Race were out at the same time and Geronimo can’t play two positions. I think Geronimo played about as many minutes as were available.

That's completely false. TJD and Race should never have been out at the same time assuming there was no foul trouble. Durr should have never stepped foot on the court unless that was the case. Geronimo should have been playing 19 mpg.

Durr played extended minutes (10+) twice in conference play this season and that was against Illinois and Purdue in games where TJD picked up two early fouls in both contests.

Durr looked better than both our starting bigs against true centers. It’s silly not to use him when we play guys that TJD and Race can’t guard and would only get more fouls otherwise. I wish Durr had played more in a few games.

Geronimo played plenty. There was exactly zero chance of Geronimo getting 19 mpg. Stop being stupid. There is foul trouble, bad matchups, and other factors that keep him off the court some. I remember a few games he was yanked because of horrible play by Geronimo himself.

12 mpg is about all he could get this year unless you make the argument that he should have taken some of Race’s minutes.

Your point? I said I was fine with him playing if it were due to foul trouble. If Race and TJD were not BOTH in foul trouble, there is zero reason to play Durr. You slide Race to the 5 and Geronimo plays the 4. It's really not that hard to understand. There are 80 mpg at the 4/5, and it should have been distributed between TJD, Race, and Geronimo in almost every single game.

That Geronimo played plenty and Durr only got serious run in dire situations.

We played 4 games the entire year against true centers (Illinois, Michigan, and Purdue). He shouldn't have stepped on the court in ANY other game. He was abysmal when he did.

I agree there was zero chance of Geronimo getting 19 mpg, because Woodson is too stubborn to allow that to happen.

Stop being stupid. Geronimo could/should have played every minute that one of Race or TJD were on the bench.

to win. 16.4% to reach the semis, 6.8% to reach the finals, and a 2.7% shot at being champs.

The worst loss Kenneth logs the Hoosiers is the home loss to Rutgers, baring a first round loss to a bottom 4 team, is an assured tourney team. All the rest are category B or A. Oddly, Cuse loss (88 in pom) is an A game, but Penn State (91 in pom) is a B game. 90 the cut off, or some weird algorithm? I would guess the latter.

Two wins 100% puts the Hoosiers in, 1 win and we hope like hell Davidson wins the A10 I think we are in.
Is Kenneth the alter-ego of the Tracker?

Well Woody apparently agrees with me so I am confident that my thinking is correct. Keep thinking you know anything at all about basketball brother.

Woodson agreeing with you doesn't make you right lol. If anything, that's a bad look.

Sure a college basketball staff and head coach who has played and coached basketball at the highest level for 40 years and sees our players every single day in practice knows less than you. Sure buddy.

You are going to get trashed and insulted for that response . Be ready they are coming for you the name calling will start very soon because you are not going with the narrative that we are going to beat Michigan and likley even beat Illinois. Only rainbows and unicorns are allowed.
No one is impressed by a constant whiner. You should do some self-reflection.

He sure looked like he knew what he was doing this year. I guess just ignore the other college coaches that have spoken out against Woodson.

Which college coaches spoke out against Woodson again?

Dakich for one.

Then you have the former coach at Wabash saying there has been no player development under Woodson.

He’s been the coach at IU all of ten months. How the hell can you actively gauge player development in less than a year? Race Thompson didn’t improve? Xavier Johnson played significantly better down the stretch than he did at any point in the preseason. Please don’t die on this hill.

Dan Dakich lol. And the former coach of Wabash. Hmmm. I will need to ponder this for just a…. Yep I take Woodson.
Oh so it's not about me not having coached at the college level, it's more about me disagreeing with Woodson.

Did you defend Archie this blindly?

He had an entire offseason and regular season. You named two guys. Race has marginally improved since last year. XJ is very streaky. He's on a good streak right now, but the Ohio State and Wisconsin games were only two weeks ago.

You’re crazy if you don’t think XJ is night and day better today than he was in November. Race night in and night is one of the most consistent front court players in the B10. Marginally improved my ass.

XJ has been great the last 4 games. Now look at the 5 games before that. He was dreadful. He's a streaky player.

I don’t know if you have coached at the college level or not. But I do believe that anyone who doesn’t think that X, Rob, Galloway, and Race don’t look better than they did last year either didn’t watch close enough to evaluate or is dumb.

And Dan’s opinion on anything IU related was tainted long ago and nobody should listen to his takes on anything IU.

Plus Woodson has been here less than a year and everyone who is an expert on evaluating coaches will tell you that you need several years.

I have said before that I am 100% behind Woodson now and think he is a good coach and a better person. I will continue to stay behind him until year 4 at which time I will look at his body of work and formulate my opinion of him long term.

I was behind Miller until the second half of the year in his 4th season. I still didn’t think he would be fired because of the buyout but thought his chances of long term success was slim by the second half of year 4.

I have always felt and will always feel that 4 years for high school and college coaches is about what it takes to evaluate them properly.

Did you watch a lot of Pitt games last year? Weird that you are so confident that XJ is better. Rob is the same player he has been for 4 years. Galloway seems to have gotten better. Race as I said is marginally better. There are many players did not improve.

I am behind Woodson in the same way I'm behind any liberal president. I hope they succeed for the betterment of our country, but I don't have faith they will get it done in the end.

Glad to know that we can properly evaluate Woodson when he turns 68.

He’s improved statistically in every single offensive category playing the same amount of minutes as last year. He’s maximized his output playing in the role he does. He’d be a 17-10 guy as the prominent front court player of it weren’t for TJD. I don’t understand how I’ve gone on with you this long. That’s on me though. You’re clueless.

Race on a per 40 basis has increased his points, rebounds, shooting %, and 3 point %. That dude is stuck in knock everything Woody mode. Race looks like a different player to me this year. Adding the range has really transformed him. I personally think he would be a better pro than TJD at this point.
