Why must you say I am delusional about a guy possibly averaging 6-8 points next year? It happens all the f’ing time with recruits with similar rankings in their freshman year.Galloway did that on a team that went 12-15.
6-8 points would have made Gunn our 4th leading scorer this year. You are delusional if you think he is averaging 6-8 points next year. He won't even average 6-8 minutes (unless we are Nebraska or Minny bad which is possible).
I said fan boy comment.Well, you just called CJ Gunn a 3 level scorer that IU is missing.
1. Not sure how you don't view XJ as a 3 level scorer.
2. Gunn doesn't project to be a 3 level scorer in the B1G. after being here for a couple years, he might find himself as a spot shooter.
No, a fanboy is someone who thinks the answer to all of our problems lies in a low ranked/recruited player that is very similar to a lot of the players we have had the last few years that got us into this mess.
Lmao. 🤦🏻 You have zero idea what you are talking about.Galloway hasn't made an impact.
JHS better play if Woodson wants any hope of turning things around. Cut both XJ and Rob if there is any chance of not playing JHS. Woodson has already severely slowed the development of Bates and Geronimo.
Gunn won't get more minutes next year than Leal has this year.
We literally have no 2-3 that resembles Gunn. Not even leal. No 2-3 guard we have elevates or manufactures shots. He’s got a legit jumper and fade away. No, a fanboy is someone who thinks the answer to all of our problems lies in a low ranked/recruited player that is very similar to a lot of the players we have had the last few years that got us into this mess.
Weird that nothing jumps out to recruiting analysts and his offer list was dogshit, so other coaches aren't very impressed either. I'm sure you are a great talent evaluator, though. You should quit your day job.
Does it happen all the time? Can you name the players in the last 10 years for IU that were ranked 100+ that averaged 6-8 points for IU as a freshman? Why must you say I am delusional about a guy possibly averaging 6-8 points next year? It happens all the f’ing time with recruits with similar rankings in their freshman year.
You are an ass. No interest in a discussion whatsoever. Just want to argue with anyone who doesn’t have the same bullshit outlook of iu that you have.
In your delusional mind, I'm sure you think that's true.I said fan boy comment.
Nothing I've said about CJ Gunn is wrong.
Lol you will see. You will come up with some BS excuse when it happens and predict that our next round of lowly ranked players are going to be upgrades to our current lowly ranked players.Lmao. 🤦🏻 You have zero idea what you are talking about.
As someone who has watched CJ Gunn live at least ten times since his junior year, not to many coaching nearly 30 years in the high school ranks (many in the same conference Gunn currently plays in), I'm more than confident when I say that you don't know what in the hell you're talking about. Hope we are abundantly clear in that regard. In your delusional mind, I'm sure you think that's true.
In high school. Leal did that too. As did most every other B1G guard in high school. We literally have no 2-3 that resembles Gunn. Not even leal. No 2-3 guard we have elevates or manufactures shots. He’s got a legit jumper and fade away.
We heard that 1000 times before, and yet here we sit with an untalented roster full of a bunch of losers. He committed to IU extremely early and as I said in my last post missed a huge chunk of the AAU season going into his senior year when rating evaluations are done. I’m not surprised you don’t think Gunn will be good basing it strictly off recruiting rankings, hence my reasoning for calling your ability to evaluate talent dogshit.
Anthony Leal wasn't near the shooter that CJ Gunn was in high school nor played night in and night out competition anywhere close to what Gunn played. You are talking out of your ass.In high school. Leal did that too. As did most every other B1G guard in high school.
You must think Braden Smith is going to be an absolute stud for Purdue if you are only factoring in how they play in high school.
What are your predictions for next year? What school were you the head coach at?As someone who has watched CJ Gunn live at least ten times since his junior year, not to many coaching nearly 30 years in the high school ranks (many in the same conference Gunn currently plays in), I'm more than confident when I say that you don't know what in the hell you're talking about. Hope we are abundantly clear in that regard.
Do you have stats to back this up? Let's see the stat comparison.Anthony Leal wasn't near the shooter that CJ Gunn was in high school nor played night in and night out competition anywhere close to what Gunn played. You are talking out of your ass.
Think he’ll be a 15-20 minute a night guy and average 5-6 points per game on top of being one of the better 3 point shooters on the team. But again he’s only a freshman, not sure I ever alluded to him being a day 1 star. But thinking he’s only going to be a role player at IU based on his offer sheet and ranking after committing extremely early in his high school career on top of missing the most crucial evaluation period is an asinine take. That’s a take from somebody who has never picked up a ball in their life.We heard that 1000 times before, and yet here we sit with an untalented roster full of a bunch of losers.
What are your predictions for Gunn next year?
Ok so only IU and only the last 10 year lol. Any other restrictions you want to put on that? And many similar ranked in that span averaged 4-5 so not much difference.Does it happen all the time? Can you name the players in the last 10 years for IU that were ranked 100+ that averaged 6-8 points for IU as a freshman?
Answer: Rob Phinisee and Victor Oladipo
Yes, my outlook on IU is bullshit lol. We will be picked bottom 4 in the conference next year, but don't worry, we are moving in the right direction with our 64 year old coach.
You are putting words in my mouth. I've stated that my opinion on Gunn comes from watching him play, the opinions talent evaluators have on him, and the list of schools that offered him. All 3 combine to form my opinion.Think he’ll be a 15-20 minute a night guy and average 5-6 points per game on top of being one of the better 3 point shooters on the team. But again he’s only a freshman, not sure I ever alluded to him being a day 1 star. Have zero interest in discussing my credentials with you. Stick to calling out "fan boys".What are your predictions for next year? What school were you the head coach at?
There is a huge difference between 6-8 ppg and 4-5 ppg. If Gunn plays significant minutes next year, we are once again not a tournament team, and likely will have our worst year since Crean's first year.Ok so only IU and only the last 10 year lol. Any other restrictions you want to put on that? And many similar ranked in that span averaged 4-5 so not much difference.
I believe if Gunn plays significant minutes, which is likely without transfers at the 2/3 he will be a solid contributor.
And yes your outlook and general demeanor about them is bullshit.
Oh, so you were probably an assistant for the 9th grade team at one of those schools. Congrats on your "coaching career".Have zero interest in discussing my credentials with you. Stick to calling out "fan boys".
I’m from Bloomington you doof. Leal is not close in regards to being able to do what Gunn currently does.In high school. Leal did that too. As did most every other B1G guard in high school.
You must think Braden Smith is going to be an absolute stud for Purdue if you are only factoring in how they play in high school.
We will see. There is a huge difference between 6-8 ppg and 4-5 ppg. If Gunn plays significant minutes next year, we are once again not a tournament team, and likely will have our worst year since Crean's first year.
That's weird, because I think you outlook and fanboy demeanor are bullshit too.
You are putting words in my mouth. I've stated that my opinion on Gunn comes from watching him play, the opinions talent evaluators have on him, and the list of schools that offered him. All 3 combine to form my opinion.
Your opinion on him sounds like it is being formed from watching him play only.
Did I ask where you were from? Gunn will be exactly like all of our lowly ranked guards have been under the last two coaching staffs.I’m from Bloomington you doof. Leal is not close in regards to being able to do what Gunn currently does.
Did we ask for your input?Did I ask where you were from? Gunn will be exactly like all of our lowly ranked guards have been under the last two coaching staffs.
This time next year they’ll be done with Gunn but have a shiny new recruit of an answer in 2023. Wash rinse repeat. Been watching it for 20+ years.Did I ask where you were from? Gunn will be exactly like all of our lowly ranked guards have been under the last two coaching staffs.
He may be more than a role player by years 3 and 4. I'm saying he will be a role player because I'm hopeful the staff will find guards that are more talented and capable of making the tournament. It's very possible that Gunn is one of our better players in year 3 and 4. We won't be any good, but he could be one of the best on the team.If you’ve watched him play several times like you say and only come to the conclusion that he’ll only be a role player by years 3 and 4 then I have to question what you’re looking at? You’re basing his potential on his offer sheet which is limited (because he committed so early) and ranking (because he missed a majority of the summer evaluation period due to injury). If you don’t play during the AAU season, you’re lucky if your ranking only stagnates as it usually jumps. Committing at a very early stage in his career while not playing AAU is a huge reason for his lack of offers. It will ultimately be a blessing in disguise.
Do I care if you did or not? You are a fanboy.Did we ask for your input?
I was the same way. No longer. This time next year they’ll be done with Gunn but have a shiny new recruit of an answer in 2023. Wash rinse repeat. Been watching it for 20+ years.
Fanboy. Yep. Now move on.Do I care if you did or not? You are a fanboy.
^^^ Nostradumbass has spoken..We will be picked bottom 4 in the conference next year, but don't worry, we are moving in the right direction with our 64 year old coach.
You think we are going to be good next year?^^^ Nostradumbass has spoken..
You think we are going to be good next year?
Did I say there wouldn't be a single one committing? It’s entirely way to early to tell how good or bad IU is going to be next year without a finalization of the roster. Predicting 7-8 guys leaving without a single one committing to it yet is the ultimate doom and gloom prediction.
Did I say there wouldn't be a single one committing?
