Kanon Catchings

Like rats from a sinking ship. There are signs that a coach is done, and one is recruiting dries up. The kid probably doesn't want to lose to a mid-major or play 1960's Frankenball in a failed system.
Painter and Purdue are stuck in the past and will never win at the National Level. Future recruits now see this as reality after yet another double digit seed loss by Purdue that embarrassed Purdue yet again with the nation watching, and realize there are better choices out there for their talent than Purdue. .

I'm not dialed into the Edey/NIL drama, but seems like he has the program held hostage at the moment. Word is they are throwing every NIL dollar they can scrounge up at him....while awaiting his decision. Meanwhile the portal wheels spin and they are on the outside looking in. If Edey were coming back, you'd think he'd say so now for the program's sake. Raw deal if they sit on what NIL funds are available and then Edey declares right before the date (May 15?), while all the other P5 programs are on a shopping spree.

But we keep finishing ahead of IU in BT.

purdue focuses on the regular season because that is all they have ever had.
purdue has never won a NCAA Tournament so they are completely irrelevant at the national level. And always will be. It must be depressing to be a purdue fan knowing they will never win. Hate and jealousy drive purdue fans or why else would they chant anti-IU chants while playing against other universities. That looks so pathetic and desperate.

The years of "IU Sucks" chants are so telling. When IU is playing Michigan in Assembly Hall, on CBS...on Sunday afternoon in February...Purdue is the furthest thing from our minds. Textbook example of living rent free.

Edey - Get the NIL money first then either go nba or transfer to valpo.

Nobody posted that nonsense about Cannon not being a good player. Pure fabrication. Oh yes, Purdue has an open scholarship for 2023 if he reclassifies. Brandon Newman left, so that is open.

Not half as awkward as for idiots who keep running to their rivals board to post, but it hasn't seemed to phase those fools!
What about those who post on other big ten boards due to their love of the big ten and discussing it? Or those that enjoy discussing indiana basketball in general. Indiana as in the state as a whole?

Or did you just see Boiler in my name and assume I'm here because of some reason that will make you feel better about yourself?

It ($$$$$) directly impacts my feelings towards both Edey and PU.

While I could never root for either, if Edey makes zero in NIL and is POY I have a great deal of respect and admiration for him, and for PU as a program.

If he rakes in $2 million I dislike him and them as a program even more than now.
If he’s the highest paid player in college, it’s reason enough for me to root against him the hardest.

Caveat, if I had a child in the NCAA I would say make as much money as you can. But, it doesn’t change my feeling that trying to out Kentucky the slime programs of “college” basketball, while legal, doesn't make it any less dirty or palatable.

But, it is what is is.

“Money wins”.

The only good thing is that it is now easier to know who to root against. I wish it was even easier. Imagine Edey with patches on his jersey from all the sponsors that bought him? The bigger the bucks, the more prominent the patch. Find me a jersey with the name of just the school, and no patches, a true underdog I can root for. Until their players get poached in the portal, that is.

Get off my lawn @Chicago-bound Hoosier !!!!!!

Rumor is that one rubber band would not hold all of the Taco Bell and Speedway gas cards in Edey's NIL offer.

It isn't Boilie in your name Gilligan...it is your history of almost 2,200 obsessive embittered posts here.

Think what kind of money Edey could make if he went into the portal rather than staying at Purdue. I don't see how you can criticize him anymore than if TJD decided to return to IU rather than playing pro-ball next year.
