I was thinking that when I saw the measly PSU crowd. Knight always competed against full houses with the crowd totally wired because the IU home games were circled in red on the locker room calendars at the beginning of their seasons. Now our opponents can’t give their IU game tickets away-it’s gotten this bad, folks!
It's a sad state of affairs when a team gets to a bowl by beating nobody. The only thing that got that team to a bowl was a favorable schedule.
We might make it to ncaa without beating a road team with a winning record! Awful
I had hopes he might be the answer, but he is NOT. Not saying it was a mistake to fire Crean, he was not the answer either, but his teams usually tried (every other year) and showed heart despite lackluster instruction or most of the time talent too. To some extent, just because Crean's teams would display effort and heart, even when poorly coached, it more resembled IU ball.
Arch will have utterly failed, but in 3 years collected upwards of 10 M$ for us to see zero progress, bad recruiting, and no NCCAT. I can't even imagine Crean thought the bar so low he was gonna get a pass on that ever, but he had a good class coming and earned a 2nd chance for that. Couldn't wish him more gone, but Crean had a lot more to sell than Arch on a 4th year. Truth, if they go into nose dive again mid season, I'll bet he's fired
We won't, these jokers that suggest we win 4 more game for the rest of the year will you (apparently any 4) and then choke it out to suggest an first round exit. Not gonna happen, the B10 will get a lot of teams in, because there are going to probably be a lot deserving, but the whole conference is not going, nor probably the top 10. We can't just bottom feed at home and expect to get an invite, and 19-13 suggestions, GTFFOUT, are you kidding? With our crap non-conference it needs to be easily 21-23 wins, why?, because we played a shit schedule and more than half our wins need to be not over a glorified HS program.
Let this resonate, we probably get in over OSU last year, because despite the shit, we had a better ugly resume. We have a couple good wins, but at home, and if there's somebody that can push us out, maybe a MI, OSU, WI … maybe with even a worse conference record, I could see it happening. Just wat IU basketball to be IU basketball, never expect to lose its just disgusting that we ever should. I used to get that in down/rebuilding years and call BS, bet we win, I've got a feeling, and they responded to an RMK diatribe and come to play. I don't get this sense anymore, we need it back

The player development is bad since Archie has arrived I can't think of anybody that has improved since he has got here.
We go as our guards go.
We don't need outstanding guard play to win, we just need good guard play.
Tonight we got garbage guard play from the big three.
F#$king Phinesse couldn't even hit three uncontested lay ups. He was tentative and overall garbage.
Green was complete garbage, back to his poor decisions after a good Maryland game. He at least fed the post vs Rob who was too scared so he passed it side to side.
Al isn't a big ten major minute player. He's always such a liability defensively. He's horrific defensively and has a uncomfortable, shaky handle. He looks like a junior high kid playing against high schoolers.
It's going to be up to Rob unfortunately. If he can just give us a passable point guard we'll have a shot to win. He's giving us that at home. He's been garbage on the road.
I think we're going to need to recruit a better point guard. Obviously big ten level guards.
