IU ticket sales

Yep, the only thing that would get me off the Fire Mike wagon would be a national championship and we all know that can't happen if you don't even make the damn tourney!
Outright B10 title would probably back me off a little bit. Natty obviously changes the calculus a lot. But I’d bronze a statue of Dolson if he got rid of Woodson even if he did do either of those things. There’s much more bad evidence than a few months of good play. Crean won a B10 title. Kevin Ollie won a natty. It’s time to move on…hopefully no matter how the season ends.

So I have been doing this for awhile. Never seen anything like this. Not Creans last year, not Archies. This is much worse. Tickets are the cheapest they have been to IU basketball since Creans first year. This is nuts. I sold 4 tickets to USC, Row 8 section K ( dead center) for under face value. I can't sell bad seats in the main level for $35 bucks a ticket right now. That is insane. Apathy has hit what I hope is rock bottom. I certainly have never seen it this bad. No1 gives a F. Every fan I talked to at the ND game just didn't give a shit.

An in season move is the best option. Show everyone in the country this job is open, and let anyone on the bench finish this thing out. I have never seen a more dead man walking. EVERYONE knows it. You can't find one person in Bloomington that thinks he isn't going to get fired, including Mike Woodson. Get this shit over with.
Well inflation took a big bite … but too many home losses eventually take their toll.

I don’t think there’s any scenario you “run it back” next season with whatever this is. Let’s be honest, we all know where this season is going. The likelihood that there going to be a sudden flip of the switch now when we haven’t seen anything to indicate that it’s possible over the last 3+ years is remote at best. Bottom line, this has proven to be much more work and more difficult that Woodson imagined. He isn’t cut out for this and never was. We rolled the dice because some thought it was time for an alum. The longer he stays the worse it’s going to get.

Outside a few emotional post game rants, where I might have typed “fire him now”…in reference to multiple coaches since RMK, my rational side says it’s hardly ever a good idea to get rid of a coach mid season. The gain is almost always overshadowed by the bad vibes that creates in various places in programs…including outside perceptions.

But if he goes on a January losing streak, this year, I think a more rational case could be made for doing it this year.

At that point, I think you’d almost have to be friends and family of Woodson to not “get it”. And in today’s portal world, there are very tangible advantages to knowing well in advance of the end of the season that you’ll have a new coach in the spring. With our massive resources, potential coaches and players would naturally have IU on their radar earlier than if Woodson is allowed to finish the season.

If we continue to look how we have so far this year, and we slog through the B10 season and miss the NCAA…I’ll understand Dolson waiting. But the noise sure is gonna get loud. Gonna be very “toxic”.

You move on a coach in season only if you have a better interim solution which we do not. The Assistants are recruiters not coaches

I think Cignetti and the success of the football program is Woodson’s death knell. No longer do IU fans have just basketball season to look forward to. I’ve heard that NIL for football is soaring and it’s diminishing for basketball.
The funny thing is this past summer (in a closed setting), CMW was asked what he thought of Cig, and he laughed and said "he's a strange kat." To be fair, he backed that comment up by complimenting him on the attention he was bringing to football and his confidence he was exuding, as much as one could prior to seeing the season transpire as it did. So he wasn't dogging him and was likley saying what most of us were thinking but, it is a tad ironic looking back.

Indiana always has been and always will be a basketball school; I don't think football success or lack of has anything to with Woodson. the fans are just sick of this shit and can't stand watching the brand of basketball that woody brought to Bloomington.
Most “football schools” now have basketball programs that are light years ahead of the extinct IU basketball program. The fact that people use the term “basketball school” when your basketball program is a mess with no recent success, being absolutely owned over long stretches of games by most of the conference, is almost like the punchline to a joke and insulting to schools that actually play good basketball.
Any coach worth their salt could coach basketball at IU. We just never hired anyone worth a shit. Sampson was heads and shoulders above any of these other clowns who stepped into the role post RMK. He can coach basketball but has zero common sense.
This season is playing out exactly like most thought when you know going in you have the worst HC and staff in the conference. No surprise there for those that had taken in enough of the results of this regime and did their homework. As the losses pile up, The Hall will turn as ugly as the end of the Davis days. You’ll have the same 3 guys on this board still touting Woody’s coaching prowess till the very end.

This is really an unintended consequence of the success in Football. People now have a very clear firsthand example and experience of the difference a good coach can make. The old excuses don't fly anymore.
Disagree, this was already setting in mid-season last year with anyone that was paying attention. The writing was on the wall and even if you started paying attention this year, there’s Kentucky, Michigan and Louisville that are even a more glaring emphasis of Woody’s failure than our football story.

The the head guy is neither. How could any of the assistants not do a better job. My only fear would be the interim does so well that people will want him to made permanent and I have seen that movie before.

Move now and let everyone know IU is serious about basketball once again.
