So I have been doing this for awhile. Never seen anything like this. Not Creans last year, not Archies. This is much worse. Tickets are the cheapest they have been to IU basketball since Creans first year. This is nuts. I sold 4 tickets to USC, Row 8 section K ( dead center) for under face value. I can't sell bad seats in the main level for $35 bucks a ticket right now. That is insane. Apathy has hit what I hope is rock bottom. I certainly have never seen it this bad. No1 gives a F. Every fan I talked to at the ND game just didn't give a shit.

An in season move is the best option. Show everyone in the country this job is open, and let anyone on the bench finish this thing out. I have never seen a more dead man walking. EVERYONE knows it. You can't find one person in Bloomington that thinks he isn't going to get fired, including Mike Woodson. Get this shit over with.

I'd be amazed if he doesn't finish it out. The only way I see it happening is if he quits for "health reasons".

His legacy is in the shitter and that's a shame. He was one of my favorite players before all this.
Great player, lousy coach. It happens! Chris Mullin and Patrick Ewing are great examples

I wish you had a tad bit more influence. I’d vote you trustee now

This is really an unintended consequence of the success in Football. People now have a very clear firsthand example and experience of the difference a good coach can make. The old excuses don't fly anymore.
You are so right. I think a big part of the basketball apathy is the success of IU football. Ironic.

But you're exactly right - people can see the stark difference the right coach can make.

I think Cignetti and the success of the football program is Woodson’s death knell. No longer do IU fans have just basketball season to look forward to. I’ve heard that NIL for football is soaring and it’s diminishing for basketball.

I mean if we are losing by double digits in the second half vs Rutgers….. I’m gonna start the damn chant during an IU FT when it’s dead ass quiet. Fire Woodson, clap clap, clap clap clap.
Wear a shirt under your jacket the rest of the season (at games) that says something like…

“This is one big hump”
“NCAA Tourney????”
“No sh*t, it’s on you.”
“For $100k, I can win more games.”
“Scott, hump guy about to ruin IUclover’s 40th bday.”
“Why did I pay to watch this?”

IMO, it definitely made it worse but I wasn't the only one wanting him fired last year so that drumbeat would have only been louder after the piss poor results this year. CCC success has just accelerated the process!

Indiana always has been and always will be a basketball school; I don't think football success or lack of has anything to with Woodson. the fans are just sick of this shit and can't stand watching the brand of basketball that woody brought to Bloomington.

I understand your comment but this is laughable for anyone who followed IU under Knight.

Is the malaise intentional?

What better way, after realizing Woodson's ceiling as a coach, to move more fan interest to the football program and away from hoops? I don't think anyone, to include SD, expected the overwhelming success of CCC so quickly! Anyone!
But here we are, in the national spotlight! IU Football!
Say it again! IU Football is in the national spotlight!!! In one year!
SD can afford the hoops program to languish temporarily, to maximize football's success.
Once(if) football becomes a solid, successful, sustaining program, the mediocrity in the hoops program can be addressed.
4D chess!

No1 gives a F.
Agree with most of what you said, except this. Look at all of us; plenty of people give an F, or this forum wouldn't exist, IU BB wouldn't have the presence it does and no one would be showing up or buying tickets. Your ticket sales are somewhat inconsequential to the school because the tix have already been purchased. Now, they won't like empty seats, but they like ones that are paid for a whole lot better.

Sad that we're here, but I don't see any way he'll be back. I'd rate it 70-30 whether he leaves after the season (70) or is gone before the season is over (30%). Sad that he hasn't taken advantage of the coaching acumen at the school right now. Between Moren, Cignetti and Todd Yeagley, there's a ton of coaching chops. I'd be having breakfast or lunch with that group at least monthly and sharing ideas. That was probably the best Hysterics episode ever, when they had Jerry Yeagley on, it was great. He talked about his communication with RMK and Doc Counsilman. Woody didn't take advantage of Thad Matta and I doubt he's taken advantage of the other great coaches at IU. Someone who has a learning and improvement mindset should be high on IU's checklist for the next coach.

I was a youngster when I started following IU under Knight. I'm 65, Knight's been gone since I was 40. So.... If you're 40 or under ( probably no more like 45) this is not laughable.

The sunshine pumpers within the program will do what they have to do to hype this broken wagon. I'd love to have seen their faces when posting that.
If they read the responses they should have deleted the whole damn thing.

They DON’T GET that the fanbase is fed up and this bullsh!t sunshine pumping isn’t going to work.

Woodson has to produce big the next three months and yet fans like me will still want his ass gone.

Yep, the only thing that would get me off the Fire Mike wagon would be a national championship and we all know that can't happen if you don't even make the damn tourney!

Gotta think people who were in their 40s during RMK’s hay day are well into their 70s now.

Some parents of current recruits probably only have fleeting memories of late 80s- early 90s RMK, before we started our yearly first round exits and double digit loss seasons.

Not debating anything you say here but IMHO FB has taken a material bite out of it thus far. After Winter Break I think we will see things move upward again. But yes, time for a change.
