Thought this thread with so many IU grads would be both positive and pleased with the team's performance to date.

MM66, can understand past changes only led to disappointments.
Nevertheless, thanks to portal recruiting and vast improvements in all the fundamental statistical measurements compared to last year, this year looks different in my opinion.
IU football fans are like battered spouses. We just can’t ever expect anything good to happen.

It's all about TV. IU basketball is one of if not the biggest basketball viewer draws in the conference. That's going to carry some weight. Besides, no matter how you structure the football side of the league, half are going to finish below average.

Yes … but stop. Dolson found a guy who had a method for not going 2-10 his first year, like so many others before him. A lot of scholarship athletes left … and this staff relying on productivity replaced them with better players.

I think we have a real team this year. I thought Cignetti was being bold with predicting a winning season this year. Now I think he was right.
We're the real deal. First time in a long time we've passed the eye test and actually look like a real, solid, sound football team.
It takes time, people have been burned before. I have sat at several games where we had a good turnout and a big game and I would think, "this will turn us around" and we lay an egg. One was a Kentucky game. Heck, one was Tennessee in the bowl.
Maryland might well be that game.
We've not yet been tested. Let's see what happens when we get into a real battle.

In a small city with the birds. Diehard blues fans. AND mls. Only so much $ to go around. But the battlehawks averaged 35k fans last year! To sit in that god awful bldg that you couldn’t pay me $500 to do. No bs.
$18 season tix start. $15 family pack tix start. $1,500 you and all your Stl city hoosier buddies can rent a suite and feel like ballers.
