do not deserve a good football program. Great venue, Great effort. No national television. 21,000 fans. No right for anyone to whine or complain about our program. Hope Ball doesn't cost us a game this year with his carelessness.

As I stood to make noise on third down, I looked around and thought for a minute I was in a n ovie theater. The fans on our side were sitting still and looking straight ahead. The 4 of us were literally the only people standing in sections 111 and 112.. Pitiful!

I’m sure it’s the fans fault for the history of the program. The fact people still buy tickets is a dedication that most programs couldn’t muster.

The fans have deserved many things over the past 30 plus years that the University could care less about. Please

Cubs fans spent their time and money through 100 years of disappointment and showed up every year. They came even when there was no reason to show up.
We’re lucky there’s a single butt in the seats after the debacle the last couple years.

Did the Cubs ever have a game that wasnt a home game, and not on their season ticket line-up, that went unfilled?
Maybe vs the Marlins or Pirates, Mets even?

It was a home game for Ball St, was not part of season ticket packages, and was on Labor Day weekend!!!!!

Wrigley was basically the first socially acceptable gay bar...before they became mainstream and commonplace, and also a tourist attraction. It still is both.

I just don’t know why people come on here and dump on the fans. It is a waste of time. I went to the game and had a great time. Spent probably $400.

Labor Day weekend, Ball State barely promoted it, and the costs were pretty high. It was on TV.

I left my house in the Central time zone at 5:30 and drove 2 1/2 hours to watch the season opener. There has to be more than 21,000 fans in a 2 1/2 hour radius capable of coming to a season opener.

It was worth every penny. If you didn't have fun, you were probably one of those zombies glued in their seat.

You spent 400...I earn a good living and can deal with that, but there were prolly 2 of you I imagine? Think about a family of four trying to go to that game. Thats a chunk of someones paycheck. jus sayin

4 of us... $200 tickets, $30 parking, $55 Food/Drinks at game, and $110 at restaurant after.

Great time had by all.

I went and had a good time too. It was good to see our QB and offense be better. The venue was nice and BSU did a good job in keeping the noise up in breaks with music and promotions. The band made noise in the game which was nice to hear. IU won in an exciting game.

I was in my first year as a student when IU went to the Rose Bowl. I too have been waiting.

Indiana football is headed in the right direction, although few fans can see this. Building is a process, and almost everyone who understands this, namely other coaches, agree.

The only issue with Indiana fans from my perspective, which is as a visitor cheering for another team, seems to be the propensity to buy into fake news. I suspect it is out of some misguided loyalty to Indiana's journalism program, which has proven to be fake news.

As I sat in the stands last fall and listened to the home team fans, I was stunned at the disparity between those that believed their eyes and ears, and those that spouted cut and paste press clippings.

You would all be well served to not link any newspaper articles on your message board, and stick to facts. Keeping in mind the process is both slow and painful, and despite what is falsely reported and quoted, there is no other way.

You act like we went 0-12 the past 2 years. Your irrational hate of Allen shows with every post. Its been much worse. Remember the Dinardo years?
I'm sure if we looked at his posts, there's one where he dumps on the women's crew program for poor leadership and subpar recruiting. The guy is a miserable troll, masquerading as a concerned IU fan.

Win first. Then people will come. IU football needs to give the fans a reason to spend their time and money on it.
they didn't come when Mallory won.
Oh yes they did. It took awhile though for fans to trust. Wasn’t well maintained though. That’s what happens when you don’t invest in program for long haul. Not fans fault

The record of futility since Mallory's departure has beaten down the fan base.

I'm pretty sure the years from 1998-2018 have set a new low for extended IU football futility. Or at least tied the old record set in the 19 years after Bo left and before the 1967 RB year.

1 winning record in 21 years (7-6 in '07). 2 crap bowl games, both losses. No winning season in BT play...only 1 when we were .500--4-4 in '01.....an overall BT record of 40-131 (23.4%)...went 4-28 with 1 win each season from 2002-2005.....went 3-21, with 1 win each season from 2008-10......are 4-14 in CTA's time here.

We've had terrible coaches (Cameron, Lynch, DiNardo), tragedy & dashed expectations.

We've got a lot of new bells & whistles, but that won't bring the fans back. We need to beat somebody good, and finish .500 in the conference to get the fans back.

Can Allen do it? Doubtful, but we'll see.

You nailed it.

So you see, when you go asking stupid questions and calling a fan base out, you get a big bowl full of reasons why. None of which have helped the program reposting on a message board. I mean, we haven’t even discussed the Mallory fight for the University to spend some money and support his success.

No, the University owns this issue from top to bottom. I don’t owe them shit for being a fan or for my education. I paid in full for both. Actually, it was Vocational Rehab Chapter 31 benefits that paid for my education. What did IU do? They refused to recognize me as an Indiana resident since I had been in the Marine Corps 10 years and had returned to the State after being discharged. What did that do? It allowed them to charge the Federal Government out of state tuition for my education.

Yes, we have quite the administration in Bloomington.

I drove two hour's from Washington plunked down $55 ..
I back them as much as possible..
I see 6 on shaky ground .After that D's effort..
Hope I'm wrong ~
