Sadly, we have to think about how IU gets into the tournament . My guess is that IU must get to 20 wins. However it happens(regular season or BIG tournament) they likely need a 20 total win. So 4 more wins

Per the other thread...

Guesses... 4 wins might get us in...but it does matter when they happen, and who they're against.

4 regular season wins...0 BTT wins...we're in as an at large, I'm sure.

3 regular season wins...1 BTT win... good chance to slide in, depending on who the wins are against.

2 regular season wins...2 BTT wins... I don't think this has much of a chance at getting us in. 2 more regular season losses implies either bad losses, or not picking up any more good wins. And then the first couple rounds of the BTT likely wouldn't provide really good wins either.

1 regular season win...3 BTT wins...no chance. Implies a really bad loss or two coming home...and an 8-12 regular season record. BTT wouldn't matter.

0 regular season wins...4 BTT wins... this would imply a loss to PSU at home, and a Washington loss, 7-13 in B10. No chance, even with a dramatic run to Sunday.

They may be able to sneak is as like an 11 seed. I don't suspect they go very far though look at woodsons last two tourney's. Its a total guards game come NCAA time.

I think that’s about right. They have to finish at least 3-1 down the stretch, otherwise they must win the BTT. The “safest” bare minimum route is 4-0 regular season finish and 1 win in the BTT.

I think 4-0, with a BTT win or two, and that starts opening up seeds like 7-8. Though I'd rather be a 10 seed, than an 8 seed, any day of the week.

Agreed, though I wouldn’t feel 100% safe from bid stealers or committee incompetence unless they at least won their next 5 games. I do think 4-0 without a BTT win puts IU at about a 90-95% chance.

I’ve always preferred a 10 or 11 seed to an 8 or 9 seed. Not much difference between facing a 6 or 7 vs an 8 or 9 in the 1st round, but most 1 seeds have separated themselves from the pack, even from 2 seeds, so the 2nd round game is generally significantly tougher facing a 1 rather than a 2.
