Here's another point every single Trump defender seems to gloss over, in their zeal to label all of the indictments (and 91 criminal charges) vs Trump as "political"...
Prosecutors may be members of pollitical parties opposite of the defendant such as Willis and James who are registered Democrats. Smith is pretty apolitical, has prosecuted govt officials from both parties and is reputed to be a registered Republican, in terms of actual party registration...

In the 3 criminal trials Trump will be convicted or aquitted by a jury of diverse individuals who hear the testimony and evidence presented in the courtroom...The foreperson of the Special Grand Jury in GA, which actually requested more indictments than the GJ eventually handed down was a woman who had voted for Trump and was actually a bit of a fan girl. Meadows,Pence, Cassidy Hutchinson, Barr...If Trump ends up being convicted those are the folks who will convict him, not Willis or Smith.

I don't know if she's playing CYA, but when an Attorney actively does all he/she can to extradite themselves from a particular action or line of thinking, it's a good bet that Attorney is aware that failure to do so would have disastrous legal consequences. The last thing a reputable attorney wants to be associated with is an illegal/criminal act...
