It's a simple take but some what accurate. This conflict has been going on for thousands of years. All sides in this have committed atrocities. None have clean hands. Including Israel. That said, Israel should respond with a heavy hand. The US needs to support them by keeping the rest of the area out of it.
Iran could not allow Saudi-US-Israel defense pact to forge. These tensions have been present for a hundred years. No one should be surprised by what happened last night

Every US president, since the inception of the state Israel, has had to deal with this exact same situation.
That area has been at war for over a thousand years. It will never end. All anyone can hope for is a few months/years of peace here and there.
Worse than that is that nobody saw this coming. Our intelligence services have missed a lot in the last 10 years or so. Are they spending too much time and effort on “extreme MAGA“?
