I think the Romeo phenomena has been a distraction for this team. Didn't say the individual, the hype phenomena.

Reminds me a ton of the Bracey Wright era.

Without him we go back to being talented lunch pailers, all working in the same direction, probably going through Davis on offense instead of a perimeter guard (if he can stay healthy and get in shape and yeah, doesn't leave which wouldn't surprise me).

We need much better pg play out of Phinesse. He shouldn't have half the fanbase yelling at him to pass it to Romeo next year (seriously, Frankievision rips him on Twitter for not passing it to Romeo and others join).

That's the distraction that I'm talking about...the hype.

He's old for his class (he's older than Bryant and Morgan I think) and who knows if he is happy anymore. He was rumored before when he was struggling but hopefully this late season spurt will make him want to stay.

Honestly I'm not going to shocked on who leaves if they do except Al so it's hard to think about next year roster right now.

So when do we hit bottom?

This year has been an utter disappointment. The worst part of it all is that our two best players are in the final season at IU. Throw in the fact that Fitzner, who many expected to be a solid contributor, is here for only one year, so this is a team built to succeed now. IMHO, if Bo Ryan is our coach we are in the top 3 in the conference this year. We should be forming the basis of what this program is going to be. Instead we are all left shaking our heads wondering what pieces will be around next year.

Call me gun shy, Call my scarred. This looks like the Crean Era all over again.

I am not advocating making a coaching change right now, but I can't help thinking we are screwed. If there is a major purge in the off-season, we are looking at a 5 year rebuild. And that's just to see what we have with Miller.
