Sanctions and a healthy dose of fear whenever their military commanders went to visit their terrorist proxies was the way to deal with Iran. Getting the Gulf Arabs and Israel to align against a common enemy was the way to deal with Iran. Pedal to the metal on domestic carbon based energy production was the way to deal with Iran. Joe did the opposite of all of these and now he has $4.25 gas, no nuclear deal, no help from the Saudis, no movement on the Abraham Accords, and the Iranians lobbing ballistic missiles at U.S. consulates.

The US’s goal after the overblown War on Terrorism was for Turkey, Israel, and the Saudis to balance each other, and collectively act as a counterweight to Iran. Despite the crazy talk by one of them, the last three prezs got on board with where US policy was already going. They may differ on the details of exact agreements and responses to events but meh….

It’s pretty well documented what Trump said and did do, especially in regard to saying the west was too hard on Putin. It would be a complete 180 for him to be a hard ass with Putin, which is what he’s trying to get people to believe now.

One of the things Trump did which I agreed with was to provide lethal military aid to Ukraine. Biden's administration continued that policy which is a good thing too. The idea that Russia wouldn't have invaded Ukraine if Trump was President isn't based on any actual evidence. I guess the only thing to hang that on would be that Trump and Putin were buddies. By the way, Trump seemed to be the smaller and weaker of those two because of Trump's subservient attitude toward Putin.

I don’t think Trump or Biden had much to do with it. I thought it was more about Ukraine reigniting interest in joining NATO, which doesn’t really align with the US presidential election cycles.
FWIW, I didn’t spike any proverbial footballs saying Bill Clinton would have prevented 9/11 because that would have been ridiculous too. Sometimes stuff happens on presidents’ watches that their foreign policy has very little control over.
