Interesting...

AS I said...I thought Purdue quit recruiting him . he wanted

to play with Hyron as a packaged deal. His Bowman coach was Purdue walk from same school as Big Dog played and Marvin kicked him off (Dillard) for knocking out a team mate in practice. I have no idea what was the issue or whose fault it was. I don't even know if any of that had anything to do with him and Purdue. I can tell you there was less and less about recruiting him in the airways the last year or so and I was surprised to see Purdue listed.

It may not have anything to do with him...it could be the package deal if it still exists...and it may just be that a different class is drawing interest. As of now I think Purdue will hold until Swanigan makes a decision and if not Purdue...hold the scholly. I wouldn't be surprised to see them look for a fifth year pt next year. Tehn again I've been surprised on a lot of things.

If Purdue doesn't recruit him it could be a lot of things and may have nothing to do with him or a packaged deal. Nothing more should be read into it and nobody knows...I was just surprised to see Purdue listed since I thought that ship had sailed a long time ago..

That is why teams can oversign by 1.

IU is already oversigned by 2, has no seniors, currently has no players projected in any mock NBA drafts, and is in the final cut for 2 other HS seniors.

If IU ends up oversigned by 4, no one graduation, and no one going pro, then that would be very stupid. If IU is going to start/continue forcing kids out it will only blow up in the programs face.

My understanding is that Rea was fired because...

he ordered some uniforms without permission. He is a great coach, and I am sure he will resurface somewhere.

Was he a short guard @ PU in the late 80's?

If it is who I am thinking of he jumped over me in a dunk contest that PU held at our high school.

I would have been a 4th or 5th grader at the time.

a little more

We know about the fight in practice. We also know that Marvin Rea was fired a couple of days ago for what seems like a bogus reason and so I suspect there is more at play. I have no idea what kind of relationship Marvin had with Dillard then or recently? I have no idea what marvin may have told Matt if anything...and if those things take on a different perspective today. It is obvious that Matt had some chemistry issues the last few years and many were very cautious about Octeus until we heard such reviews about what kind of kid he was. Therefore, if there was any smoke I could see Matt cautious whether a reason or not.

Bottom line if Dillard's tweet was legit then there are things going on in the background...maybe a package deal..maybe not...maybe a better understanding of the history of Dillard in Matt's eye...maybe that was never an issue...I just don't know. It is clear this kid will guard as Bowman always pressed since Marvin was a Roosevelt grad and Ron Heflon pressed. It is also clear this kid could make some highlights with his thundering dunks

dillard dunk... one of many

he was a skinny, short, lightening quick guard that was

a walk-on to help put pressure on the ball in practice. I don't think he could dunk it....but I could be wrong....around 88 when walk on...grad in 91

THAT is what was said. I have a hard time believing that

as they could always have him pay for them. I suspect there was another issue and they got him for something else like Capone :) Still, that is a guess on my part since I'm seen schools bend over backwards for coaches...

teh guy that definitely could have jumped over you and a few

more was Everette Stephens, but he is about 6'3" or so....
