I'd be all for Project 2025 if it was limited to the fiscal side of things. Maybe they should cut all of the social stuff out and call it Project 1012.5 or the Contract with America V2.

That clip is from April 2022. I think Project 2025 wasn't even mentioned until a year later?

Do you think that the >900+ pages of Project 2025 were written overnight? They began the project YEARS ago, with Trump's approval, and with trump's encouragement that it would be a guide for his administration.

Of course in 2022 it was not FINISHED, so it says nothing about Trump's liking of the finished product ot not. But it does indicate a knowledge of where it came from and for what purpose. Of course, since most of the Heritage Foundation people who worked on it also worked high up in the Trump administration, it's hard to swallow that even without this video that he had little to no knowledge of the project.

To say Trump will follow Project 2025 to a tee, and abdicate his own opinions to some think tank, though, is to evince ignorance of who DJT is.

It is a guide, in Trump's words, so it establishes a clear mindset of what at least the Heritage foundation / long-time Trump devotees think is important to him. Will he follow it exactly? No, as we see, he can tell how the wind is blowing.

why not debate the actual policies that you have a problem with?

Because you and others claim the Project 2025 policies, written for Trump, are not Trump's. Since Trump has no clear policies of his own, just sound bites, it's problematic.
