I forget to mention. During the Ft Wayne Blackhawk game against Ft Wayne Snyder, it was mention that Kellen Picket a sophomore for Blackhawk had been to the IU/PU game. The way it was mentioned it sounded like Kellen was doing an unofficial visit. I think this kid gets better all the time. He can shoot from the outside and has inside moves. He can also handle the ball in the open court. Let us keep our eye on him.

I saw it mentioned that he was at that game along with Bidunga, Cupps, and Haralson. Haven't seen Pickett play since he was out with an injury for the Blackhawk game against Dwenger I watched, but the announcers were kind of harping on how the game might have gone differently if he was playing. Did notice that the zone Dwenger used gave Blackhawk a hard time in that game and Dwenger was able to keep a somewhat comfortable lead most of the game, even though Furst ended up with 25 or 30 points. I think Manchester is the biggest threat to them in sectionals, but they'll make it out of there and get to regionals. I think they'd play Carroll (Flora) in the regionals and that's a team that could stop them from making it to State. Last season, Carroll beat an undefeated Monroe Central team who had beaten eventual 4A Semi State runner up Bloomington North earlier in the season, by 21 and held them to only 23 points. They then hung with Conner Essegian and Central Noble all game in the Semi State beore losing by 6. Carroll gas every significant contributer from that team back this year. Here the link to their game vs Sheridan tomorrow.

Blackhawk had lost 2 in a row without Pickett. They didn't seem like the same team without him. I do like Josh Furst on the high school level, but he doesn't look big enough to play at the next level. I have seen a couple of Carroll's games. They look pretty solid.

Link to tomorrow's Kokomo vs Richmond game:

Flory Bidunga will be going for his 9th double-double in a row in an important conference and Senior Night game for the Wildkats. Kokomo is 7-0 in the NCC and one game ahead of Anderson (6-0 in the NCC and plays two conference games, Logansport and Muncie Central, this weekend) for 1st place. Kokomo plays Anderson in both teams final conference game next Friday and depending how this weekend goes, will determine wether one of them wins the conference championship outright or they share it.

So I guess you have had Rise n Roll? A friend of mine calls that amish crack. Whenever I had to visit someone in the hospital in South Bend or Elkhart I would drive through Nappanee and get some R n R and it wasn't rest and relaxation.
Actually no , I may have a had a few someone else bought. I generally avoid the Amish hype to be honest

I respect your take on it. I am watching the Northwood game at Mishawaka from last night. Ian Rausch is having a good game. The announcers said he is going to Grace college. I for years have enjoyed the way Northwood plays. The announcers also said Cade Brenner is going to Huntington University to play for Coach Kory Alford who is of course Coach Steve Alfords son.

#1 NorthWood (17-2) plays #10 Tippecanoe Valley (16-3) on Tuesday. Going to be a good game, both teams come into it with long winning streaks (9 game streak for NorthWood, 11 game streak for Tippecanoe Valley). NorthWood is #3 in the state in Defensive Average (37.79 PPG) and Tippecanoe Valley is #38 in Defensive Average (45.42 PPG). Definitely think the 3A State Champion is going to come from the North/Northeast part of the state this year, since 5 of the top 10 teams in that class are between South Bend and Fort Wayne, and only 2 of the top 15 are south of Indy.

If I was a betting man I would go with Northwood for 3A. They have some bigs in the Rausches, shoot it from the outside, and have some good quality bench guys. I used to like it when JJ Payne was playing alongside Nitro Tuggle, but Tuggle isn't playing this yr. On 2A I am leaning towards Ft Wayne Blackhawk, but I would not be too surprised to see Linton/Stockton cutting down the nets. 1A is rougher for me, but I just saw today that Bloomfield just rolled past my Washington Hatchets last night. So they could do it. 4A Brownburg is awful tough. Ben Davis also has lots of guys who can shoot it and are athletic.

I havent really pd Attention TBH much . NW used to be tough in FB but as in many places the changing demographics around here and last names I dont recognize as the usual local. Northridge has become a commuter area. There are sub divisions in the hills around Middlebury that have brought Chicago people where family stays there and bread winner lives in Chicago during the week and commutes . It has changed things a lot.

I was aware of some of that culture conflict. When I lived in Illinois we had an area where Chicago people would come and spend the summer. A pastor friend of mine would double the size of his church during those months. I guess the rule of thumb is Chicago gets so hectic that people got to get out of there. So they come to areas where sane people live. I remember years ago there was a running back for Northwood whose last name was Yoder. Now of course the name Yoder is a big name in that area. The kid was tough as nails and was the running back for all four years of his high school career. I would watch him on WHME out of South Bend. Since moving to PA I will watch WHME games online. It always takes me back to those good ole days in Indiana on a Friday night or Saturday morning I would watch the game of the week.
