Indiana Basketball: Jerome Hunter continuing to work his way back

I think he'll play next year. I don't expect much from him for that season but I think in two years he'll be really good.

If gets the 100% go from doctors..
He'll contribute..Maybe not 14 a game ..But hell be a good plus..
He won't be dancing around out there..

The multiple (up to 30 has been stated) blood clots in his legs really concern me. Ihope that he gets healthy, safe, an can return to playing B1G hoops. Hunter is a difference maker.

Stated by who and when, or is this just speculation.

If it is the latter, then as stated above, it should not be posted.

Can we just not put unrealistic expectations on this kid so that no one feels the need to personally attack him if he doesn’t live up to them? This board does that wayyyyy too often.

I TOTALLY agree with that sentiment but I don't think ufo33 was putting ANY expectations for JH, if that is what you were implying. All he said is that if he could play he would "make a positive difference".

It's fpeaugh you're responding to. To him expecting anything positive in reference to IU or the players are "unrealistic expectations." He only has negative expectations.

The unknown has always been the best advocate any athlete has had. Similar to the back up qb syndrome.

The new, unknown is always better than the known.

How many times are the dotards on the board going to hype a player that hasn't stepped foot on the court only to turn on them by the end of their freshman year?

Correct. If Hunter can play he will contribute to the IU team's success. How much of a positive impact remains to be seen based on his health recovery, conditioning, and from being off for a year. But he has 4 years of eligibility remaining and has been around Archie's system already for a season, so he has a head start on true Freshmen in the knowledge of Archie's system.

It's always better to expect the coach to take a mediocre imbalanced roster with 1 star recruit in 1 year of recruiting and achieve amazing results than put all that on a 19 year old kid. So Yeh. Go after the coach. He's a man. He's 40. Mike Gundy says Hi.

All-American Hank Gathers lead the nation in scoring and rebounding in during the 89-90 season. He died on the court March 4, 1990 in a conference tournament game. His heart condition was known and he apparently had tweaked his medication.

100% healthy JH is the most talented player on IU's roster! will he be 100% healthy?

I have seen him in High School and at IU practices before his condition was discovered last year - he is extremely talented and extremely versatile.

When he gets on the court I'll root for him and watch him play, until then I'm not going to believe it until I see it. Far too many things have gone wrong in terms of injuries for me to be optimistic.
