It has been reported by Jeff Goodman of Field of 68 that forward Race Thompson has a sprained MCL and has 'hope that Thompson can return sometime in early to mid-February'. TheHoosier.com spoke to an Indiana spokesman but was unable to confirm that timeline.
Sources have indicated that it would not be a season-ending injury and that a mid-late February return was possible. This seems to be consistent with that.
Thompson was averaging 8.4 points and 6.1 rebounds before his injury in the first half against Iowa.

For recruiting, Indiana extended an offer to 2024 four-star guard Travis Perry of Lyon County (Ky.) on Thursday. This has been a relationship that has been growing since the spring of 2022. I wouldn't be surprised if a visit happened sooner rather than later.
Perry plays for Indiana Elite on the Adidas AAU Circuit. He is ranked No. 87 in the Rivals150 rankings and rated as the No. 19 point guard in the class. He holds offers from Kentucky, Purdue, Michigan, Virginia, Ohio State, Ole Miss, Cincinnati, Nebraska and a group of others.
Perry is one of the best scorers in the 2024 class, especially at the point guard position. He currently ranks second all-time in the state of Kentucky in total points. He has 3,669 points, second behind Kelly Coleman who is at 4,337. He is averaging 30.0 points per game this season and shooting 45.6 percent from three.
Perry on the IU offer: "It means a lot. It’s a very humbling opportunity and experience and I’m very grateful to be able to be recruited and build relationships with the coaches from such an amazing program. They have a rich history of basketball and it is beloved at Indiana."
There was some initial expectation that Perry may hop on the Kentucky offer when that was extended. But sources indicate Kentucky probably won't have much of an impact in this recruitment.
Rivals national analyst Travis Graf has seen Perry numerous times this summer and fall.
“Perry is a very consistent guard prospect that can play on or off the ball. He’s a good scorer from the mid-range and the outside and has a chance to break Kentucky’s all-time high school scoring record by the time he graduates. He’s mostly known for his scoring chops, but plays very solid defense as well, exhibiting a high IQ on that end as well as on offense.”

On the recruitment of 2024 four-star Liam McNeeley of Montverde Academy (Fla.), sources continue to indicate Indiana should now be viewed as a very strong team in this one. Oklahoma, Michigan and Arkansas are the other programs heavily involved at this point, with Texas a step below due to the lack of clarity surrounding the staff.
Rivals national analyst Travis Graf caught up with McNeeley more in-depth and got some clarity on a potential timeline for things:
McNeeley on timeline: "I don’t have any visits planned, I’m just focused on this season right now. As the summer comes, I’d love to take visits. I’m for sure going to take my time because I’m just focused on the high school season and trying to win a GEICO Championship. I’ll take some visits in the summer and cut it down from there.”

Indiana is still heavily involved with 2024 three-star wing from SIdwell Friends (DC) Caleb Williams.
As TheHoosier.com reported a few weeks ago, a return visit to Indiana is in the works and they are trying to get that scheduled for sometime this season.
He has already taken an official visit to Indiana this fall.

Indiana is also still involved with 2024 four-star Carmel Catholic (NC) guard Jaeden Mustaf.
Mustaf was supposed to visit Indiana this fall but had to reschedule that visit. There is no date at the current moment, but there is still mutual interest in getting that rescheduled.
He has taken visits to Florida State and Georgetown officially.

2025 four-star forward Trent Sisley is making another visit to Indiana on January 22, his father tells TheHoosier.com.
This is the fifth visit -- by my count -- that Sisley will be on to Indiana. It's the only visit he has scheduled for the near future.
Indiana remains strong in this one but sources indicate this may not be as quick of a recruitment as previously thought. Indiana continues to put in the work and has put itself in a very good spot up to this point, however.

2025 four-star point guard Jasper Johnson from Woodford County (KY) will be making a second visit in as many months to Indiana.
Here is the full list coming up for Johnson:
Jan 14 - Tennessee
Jan 22 - Indiana
Feb 4 - West Virginia
Feb 18 - Missouri
Johnson was on campus last month for an unofficial visit.

2023 Indiana signees Gabe Cupps and Jakai Newton were among the high school athletes nominated for the McDonald's All-American game.
Full rosters will be announced on Tuesday, Jan. 24.
Newton still has not played this season since injuring his knee in the summer. He told TheHoosier.com this week that they are aiming to get back and make his season debut in mid February.
Newton also tells TheHoosier.com that he is in Bloomington this weekend for an unofficial visit. He is currently at practice and will be here for Indiana's game against Wisconsin.
Sources have indicated that it would not be a season-ending injury and that a mid-late February return was possible. This seems to be consistent with that.
Thompson was averaging 8.4 points and 6.1 rebounds before his injury in the first half against Iowa.
