To supplement Hornet's post about IU players of the '20s, and to remember these guys one more time before the death of this forum, here are IU ABT players from 2000-2019:

QBs: ARE, 2nd team ABT '00. 1st '01; Kellen Lewis, 2nd team ABT '07; Nate Sudfeld. 3rd team ABT '15.

TBs: Lavron Williams. 1st team ABT '01; Tevin Coleman, 1st team ABT '14; Jordan Howard, 1st team ABT '15; Stevie Scott, 2nd team ABT '19 & '20.

OL: Enoch Demar, 2nd team ABT G '01; Roger Saffold, 2nd team ABT T '09; Dan Feeney, 1st team ABT G '15 & '16; Jason Spriggs, 2nd team ABT '15; Simon Stepaniak, 2nd team ABT G '19.

TE: Payton Hendershot, 3rd team ABT '19 & '20.

WRs; Courtney Roby, 2nd team ABT '04; James Hardy, 2nd team ABT '05 & '06. 1st '07; Tandon Doss, 1st team ABT '09 & '10; Cody Latimer, 2nd team ABT '12 & '13; Simmie Cobbs 1st team ABT '17; Whop Philyor, 2nd team ABT '19.

DL: Victor Adeyanju, 2nd team DE '05; Greg Middleton, 1st team ABT DE '07; Jammie Kirlew, 1st team ABT DE '08, 2nd '09; Adam Replogle, DT, 2nd team ABT '12.

LBs: Justin Smith, 2nd team ABT '00 & '01; Kyle Killion, 2nd team ABT '04; Tegray Scales. 2nd team ABT '16, 1st '17.

DBs: Herana Daze Jones, 2nd team ABT S '04; Tracy Porter, 2nd team CB '06, 1st '07; Rashard Fant, 2nd team ABT '16 & '17.

Some comments:

--IMO, ARE gets 1/2 of the credit for Levron Williams getting ABT mention;

--I really liked WRs Roby, Doss & Latimer as players....more so than the other WRs, even Hardy;

--I really can't remember much about LB Justin Smith....he must have been pretty good, making ABT 2nd team twice....just can't picture him, even though I remember everyone else well. On the other hand, I well remember Killion, who I suspect not too many people remember, as an active and aggressive LB.

-- I remember AH Jones as more of a linebacker-type rather than a DB;

--Middleton was a hell of a player in '07, even a 1st team AA....he came back in '08 and struggled, as I recall. Fant is another guy who I thought was great in year 1 but struggled the next year (although he was still named 2nd team ABT);

--I feel like WRs and TBs were our most productive positions; DBs, and especially TEs, the least productive.

--Were Feeney & Spriggs the best G-T combo of the least 24 years?

--My 12 best players overall (in no particular order): ARE; Roby; Hardy; Porter; Lewis; Middleton; Doss; Kirlew; Latimer; Coleman; Feeney; Scales.

I appreciate how hard all these guys played, often in difficult circumstances.

Justin Smith was the best player on a bad defense. A Lawrence North kid who got a lot of TV mentions. I recall him being an athletic LB and all over the place. But he may have not been all that good and just looked good in comparison. I think he was a 3 or 4 year starter.

Leveron’s ABT year was definitely a result of having ARE & Jeremi Johnson in the backfield with him in a triple option offense.

Feeney/Spriggs I agree were best combo. I’d also put Stepaniak/Martin in the discussion.

Maybe so on Smith. I feel like maybe he was on the light side for a LB? I remember Killion as being kind of a wide body.

BTW, I didn't list any Ks or Ps......not sure if we had any ABT types in those positions.

I have the same recollection on Smith being lighter & athletic more than a traditional big body LB.
