Immigration

Welfare is welfare who cares if you are white, black, orange or purple? But, if you are saying more whites than other colors it probably is correct since the vast majority of the country is "white". To better serve your argument maybe a percentage of those on welfare compared to the percentage of that race would better fit? Say 15% of all whites are on welfare?
I agree with you about the color and yes it's because we have a more white population. My argument is as a parent you want to give your children the best opportunities. I wish we could provide their home countries the same opportunities as we have. Put yourself in their shoes. I would make that journey some way somehow.

JOE how did you get here, were your family vetted? Do the laws only apply to them?
My family were vetted, cam in legally under the laws of that time. They waited for the proper time, had the proper documentation and abide by the proper direction, after having worked and saved up the $ to make their own way.
I see in another of your safe place post, you wish "WE" could provide their home countries our same opportunities. SO, how many trips have you made there so "WE" can build that for them? You know USA didn't happen on a wish, over night, like rubbing genie in a bottle. If is so GD important, are you not wiling to go put in the effort and sacrifice?
We all know the answer and what's even worse, so do you. How can you be so righteous about giving my efforts away, but you won't fold up everything that you have, travel to their country and FIX IT. How can you not do that Pasteur?

All I will say is how did you get yours? Do the laws apply to u and nobody else? Somewhere, somehow u were let in but now u want to close the doors for everyone else.

My family came legally from England, France, and were already here as I am part Native American. So yes, the laws applied to my family and for me.

I answered your questions. Will you answer any if mine from my previous post?

Because u won't give others a chance, u have yours and since they are not from here tough luck. I wish I could go and help. I will not stop anyone from trying to provide a better opportunity for his family. Anything about me family is important.

MY family were slaves and even to this day there is a different standard between the 2 races

Then adopt a bunch of them and be responsible for them. Guess what you are going to find out. Life isn't fair and it is just the way it is.

I'm loving our philosophical differences btw you guys on the board and myself. What I say or have said does not mean a hill of beans. My message is family and to me, that is what is important. Escaping the violence, cartels, and poverty. Reminds me of the sign on the statue of Liberty. 2 Many people have forgotten, the poor, the tired, and the longing to be free to have a better life. Some nations are not allowed to have this kind of discussion. I'm not trying to change your mind but give you a different point of view.

When you decide to be real and not whatever you are trying to come off as get back to us. I'm sure your relatives weren't slaves either.
My ancestors were my great great grand mother Rebecca Jennings of Tennesee.

I'm sorry but it is you that don't get it. These poor people fighting violence, cartels and poverty, show up in the latest cloths that I can go buy here, paid ten's of thousands of $$ to get here, with a $1,000 cell phone with all of the latest app's loaded and international cell service.
The plight that YOU ARE NOT WILLING to give up YOUR goodies for, but will gladfully give up MINE, are not the oppressed that you were looking for, lord helmet.
Also I don't give 2 fvck's about your feels about their oppression, we have laws both written and intent. They are, and are being educated, to find emotional loopholes in our god forsaken laws and are taking advantage of them.
Now that they know the system, they will come here, work for 2 -4 months and then go right back to their home country. "oppressed" much?

As far as your family history and the differneces between the races. There may be, sure. But not in my house. Not on my watch. And not according to any of the blacks in the neighbor that I just moved into (80% black). So hang that shit someplace else and step up and quit whining, it don't live on my door step!

I am not whining like you just stating an opinion. I see u r getting angry so I will end the discussion.

Apparently he doesn't realize that we've been listening to "their" feelz for 2 1/2 years while people just poor over the boarder, with no end and are placing huge burden on all of us. Eff their feelz. Same old shit, does nothing but causes greater problems.

I just don't understand why he cannot answer my simple questions?

Yeah, sure.

Come on Dan. I guarantee you if you walked in there and said I've got jobs for $15/hr doing some form of manual labor, the immigrants would be the first in line. Not the drugged out homeless Americans.

We could always just ship guns to the rebels in Central America again. Oh wait, that's part of why we have the problem we have now.

All over the world where there is a rich country next to poor countries, the poor flow into the rich country. Literally everywhere.

It's like the drug war. You can spend all the money you want for enforcement but the underlying problems, that people want drugs and immigrants from poor countries want into rich countries, are never addressed.

So do you think that homeless can come live with you, just walk in, sleep in your bed. I am sure they want to be in your house. So that makes it ok, right?

Joe, there are no immigrants or homeless living in people's houses currently. So obviously, no.

But should we as a society do something about it? Yes, we should. Does that involve figuring out the immigration mess? Yep. Does that mean Congress will have to do something. Yep. Are we doomed b/c of that. Yes, yes we are.

How is that ridiculous question relevant? Not a single person said they were for them sleeping in their house or other people's homes.

Are you capable of having mature debate on the subject?

Yeah, it's always our fault.......

Right. It's our fault they've had shitty government ever since they were countries.
Too binary. Our involvement in the 70's, 80's, our drug policies and War on Drugs. And that doesn't even get into the Doles and other companies who, until recently, had very little regard for any of the workers picking bananas and coffee beans.

So yes. We played a part. So did their attempt to pivot to socialism/communism. I didn't say we were the only reason it's f*cked up.

We should send your idol down there to be their el presidente so he can drain their swamp.

Then they would want to stay in their own country and immigration is solved.

Is there a number where they automatically can afford enough enforcers to catch everyone?

You act like there is a gate that dems open to allow people to enter. Maybe step away from the propaganda

If you want to answer a question, then how many more billions of dollars would you like to spend trying to catch more people?

Remember republicans are supposed to be fiscally conservative or at least like to pretend.
All those billions of dollars gojng to Ukraine would help.

imo you can thank the Spanish for that. seems like the worst thing that can happen to a country is for the Spanish Empire to have ruled you for a considerable amount of time. their monstrous style of administration still haunts places some 500 years on. what the US did was move in and take advantage of all those broken governments. pretty much what any growing power would have done, though. still, the former Spanish Empire is definitely an example of countries not being able to escape their history and geography.

Everything is relative but Chile and Costa Rica give hope.
