Watford and Beverly will end up at IU. No facts. Just seems like things are taking shape. Bama loses it's coach and Memphis isn't coached well.Beverly knows he can play instantly at IU. Watford should've been given a lot more love than Brooks. His brother is an IU legacy for Pete's sake. Not all Indiana kids are meant to be Hoosiers.TJD and Franklin are exceptions.2020 class is weak. IU will have to look at other states for talent unless a couple of hidden gems in state appear.I think there will be at least 1 transfer also. IU doesn't need the grad transfer route. It just does not pan out for IU very well.

Tell that to Max B.

Seems like that whole grad transfer and juco thing doesn’t work out for most people. At least not when that’s the player you’re really expecting a big contribution from. It’s one thing if you’re looking for a nice role player, but world-beaters very rarely come from the juco ranks. I’m sure a lot of that thinking comes from IU’s history with jucos. William Gladness (RIP), Lynn Washington, Rob Turner, Harris Mujehgaftvxbcjdienc (sp?)...decent players, but not season changing.

Also, maybe he doesn't want to play in his brother's shadow. It does make sense. I get it though. I wish we would have went much harder for him and maybe we did and he just didn't care...

Here’s what I want to know...how do we know Archie didn’t recruit the hell out of Watford? You aren’t the only person who’s suggested that, but at least you admit that “maybe” we did. Do we know how much Archie has corresponded with him? Do people just assume that if a player doesn’t commit that he just wasn’t recruited hard enough?

I've always got the feeling he's just not as interested as we want him to be and he's only considering IU to be nice(because of brother). I know that may sound ridiculous, but it's what I think half the time.

We are not getting Watford.

Archie tried, but Trendon made it known from a very early point that he wanted to create his own path. It's nothing against Archie. It's nothing against IU. He just doesn't want to go here.

And for our resident know it all, our previous coach didn't even invite the Watfords to previous Hoosier Hysterias. Let that sink in for a minute. You have a legacy recruit, a national recruit, and he didn't get invited to one of the biggest events we have. And yes, they noticed. It was out of respect to Archie and the job he did to even get us on his top 4 list.

Watford isn't coming to IU, period. Don't know anything about Beverly.

Is IU coached well?

A grad transfer is a perfect solution. IU needs shooters, go find a grad transfer shooter for one year.

You're leaving out Dean Garrett and Keith Smart - two more who weren't season changing JUCO players. Oh, wait... ;)

The juco thing usually doesn't produce season changing results because when most go that route is usually out of desperation. When RMK did it to plug a couple of missing links, the result was 1987.

According to Brian Snow, Beverly is reluctant to play in the B1G.

Since the Prep schools started, Juco has kid of been the 3rd choice for players.

Brian Snow usually has some negative to say in regards to Indiana recruiting. He doesnt like Indiana.

Or it's he's very honest in his assessment and doesn't sugarcoat anything.

He's got no skin in the game in terms of IU. Most people don't like him because his news isn't always what people want to hear.

No one knows truly what kids are thinking until they make commitment. These two are viable options. Max was good but not great. He did his role but tradionally IU hasn't done that well with jucos[minus Smart and Garrett]. I don't think they will find a great shooter in grad ranks. I posted what I feel is possible but I know no more than ANY of you.Would you turn down a Watford or Beverly commitment though????

No one would turn down a Watford commitment, but the only time he's been on campus outside of when Christian was here was when his sister was here for a volleyball game. Out of all the opportunities that he's had to come to campus, that's it.

That should tell you something there.

Again, that is the reason he didn’t go after Watford harder. You guys are having a tough time following along.
What you mean is that that is your assumption of the reason. There have been others saying that Watford never really had all that much interest in playing at IU and it was 4th place out of his final 4 the whole time. That's why he never did recruiting visits to Bloomington.

Are they correct? Are you correct? Is it a combination of the two? I'm not sure but since you're stating it as though it's a fact I'm sure you have something to back it up.

That's not what happened with Watford...the kid wasn't interested in IU...otherwise Archie would have put in the work...the truth is out there...

The question was why didn’t Archie recruit Warford harder. Reading comprehension is your friend.
Archie visited the Watford home at least twice plus however many times he saw him play. I would expect he gave the effort a talent like that deserves.

Duke is coming at him now.

Trendon Watford would look great making 3s in an IU uniform just like his brother. The Wat Shot part 2.
