RFK to HHS

Welp. RFK Jr is arguably the most progressive man on the planet. As long as he isn't able to do some of his extreme left stuff, like banning vaccines, then I am cool with this this. I remember not that long ago when the Obama administration tried to do a lot the same things RFK wants to do and the right flipped their shit. Good to see progress always wins as usual. But again, hopefully the conservatives reign him in a bit.

Michelle Obama pushed hard for school lunch reform, a reform. It has had a positive impact. But it was greatly criticized by the right. A traditional hate the messenger moment. I wish Kennedy well on healthy foods.

Covid successfully culled our military of anyone unwilling to follow amoral orders.

Kudos.
The COVID vaccination policy improved our combat readiness. About 98 percent of the military was vaccinated before the policy was changed (due to MAGA politics driven by misinformation). Prior to the vaccination, COVID outbreak on a carrier put that carrier out of operation for weeks. Same happened with a couple of other ships. It also impacted other military units. That hasn't happened since nearly everyone was vaccinated. Ordering vaccinations was a legal order. "Amoral" is your characterization and I completely disagree with that characterization.

It’s amoral.

And a soldier, marine or sailor who will go along with forced vaccination against their self-judgement cannot be trusted to protect Americans.

They could just easily bend to “I guess it’s time to solve the Catholic problem”

Nonsense. Combat readiness was at stake because of the lack of a vaccination, and it was restored after vaccinations. Easy call. Of course, I don't believe any of the ridiculously stupid misinformation about the vaccination and neither did the majority of the military who has no problem being vaccinated. You do, but you are highly susceptible to being duped by misinformation.

Are you telling me a Bad cold going around can put an entire aircraft carrier out of commission?

I thought these were war fighters. They take the day off if they have the sniffles and a headache.

The Bitchization of the military is astounding.

General George Washington required vaccinations for smallpox in 1777.

We have reverted to 250 years back, from the organized dumbing down effort. Congrats....

I have a friend who loves to use the phrase "If this were war, would you be hurt?" as a joke about meatheads.

He inoculated them against a disease that could actually kill his soldiers.

Not covid.

If you are in the U.S. military and die of covid that is evidence our standards aren’t high enough.

I guess you don't keep up with the news. Many had severe cases of COVID. Enough couldn't function as pilots, navigators and watch standers to safely operate the ship, so yes, a carrier was put out of commission when it couldn't be safely operated at sea.

You have an extremely annoying habit of having strong opinions about things your completely ignorant of. This is why you should STFU before spouting off about these things.

What if a nasty cold had snuck up on the boys when the carriers were pulling up to Okinawa or Iwo Jima.

“Out of commission!” Says Aloha.

Bitch.

See, ignorant. Aircraft carriers don't visit Iwo Jima. We have no port in Iwo Jima. In fact, we gave it back to Japan decades ago. Carriers could visit Okinawa, but it's rare. The carrier was OOC in Guam, where we can actually handle a carrier visit for liberty and maintenance. Just STFU, bitch - you are too ignorant to converse with.

I was talking about the actual battle of Iwo. Where carriers played a central role.

But it’s ok. You are as clueless as to what real war looks like as the rest of us……….fraud.

We're not at war, dumbass.

Speaking of Iwo Jima, I was there for the 50th anniversary of the battle. This was my third ship, an LST, and we beached the ship and took aboard survivors via the bow ramp and had a reception for them on the flight deck. I was Officer of the Deck on the bridge for the beaching and for the entire reception keeping the ship perpendicular to the beach. I have a large picture of Mount Suribachi hanging on my home office wall. I took the picture from the port bridgewing.

So if we were at war the sailors would suck it up and do their job? I’m still befuddled over a cold shutting down a literal aircraft carrier.

Because you're a dumbass and COVID wasn't a cold. 7,010,681 deaths.
