"I don't think we're going to make it."

We knew from the beginning it would be a bloodbath. Dems had no chance at all. Pubs will probably have a 218-217, or 219-216 mandate. Damn, maybe even 220-215!
Still counting so anything possible. Have to search every inch of each state to make sure a box of ballots not laying around uncounted.

There are no small, medium and large gavels There's just a gavel. The Speaker who has it owns the game.
The Speaker who owns it with a 4-5 seat majority will age 10 years in 2. Worse than herding cats.

If the majority is slim, say <5, it would be interesting to see if a group of House GOP members pull a Joe Manchin/Kyrsten Sinema type power move, setting themselves up as rock star swing voters.

But even with a margin of 1, as was suggested, the power of the gavel and the power of leading all committees is much stronger in a closely-divided House, as opposed to a closely-divided Senate.

^^^This is the new GOP talking point after their embarrassing midterm performance.

It’s been almost 100 years since the minority party didn’t pick up a single senate seat in a midterm election. Hopefully, they’ll lose GA too.

It is better than nothing but the Senate would have been the preferred chamber. We can’t slow roll or block judicial nominees from the House and this administration is filling the judicial system with people who are certifiable.

Controlling the House is MUCH better than nothing.

Dems like to claim they won the mid-term, but, in fact, they lost the House and Biden's agenda is DOA. Thank God. Let the investigations and impeachment proceedings begin!

We haven't been able to slow roll or block judicial nominations for 2 years prior. It's regrettable, but nothing's changed in that regard.

Just need to make sure you have uncounted conservative votes... Find some votes..any votes...as long as they are for my candidate.

Should have seen the idiots Trump put into the judicial system.

But they’re filling the nominations at a rate even faster than Trump. If this experiment in American government fails, the courts will likely be the reason. You’ll always be able to find enough conservatives to staff legislatures and who want to be executives.

But the universities have already been captured, law schools especially so. Yale Law students try to keep conservatives justices off their campus. The students of today will be the federal judges of tomorrow and they’re being churned out of those schools at 90/10 split towards ideological progressivism.

Think of the amount of extra- constitutional bullshit Biden has thrown against the wall in his first two years that had to be put down by the courts. Now imagine 90% of those court seats are staffed with mindless idealogues like Sotomayor.

That my friend, would be the downfall of American government.

There you go again, pretending that there are unicorns. The so-called ballot dumps.

The only "dumps" are idiotic posts by conspiracy mongers.
I didn’t do anything. I am being facetious. I should have used 😂😂😂😂.

Election was disappointing. 2024 good races for republicans to take senate. We will see what happens.

I agree. I want every vote counted. I don’t care who the vote is for. Every vote counts.

By all means every LEGAL vote should be counted. They should be counted in total transparency. Not behind locked doors, no newspapers pasted over windows to keep people from observing and no counting in middle of night without all parties being aware.

And hire Florida election officials so votes are totaled the night of the election.

Sometimes the doors need to be locked and the newspapers pasted over windows, if an organized angry group is trying to intimidate the (typically) volunteer vote counters or threatening to break in and do their own count. Don't pretend that we have not seen such tactics before.

100% agreement on Florida-type vote counting. Mail-ins are sorted and prepped for election-day scanning. It has to arrive by election day, not just be postmarked by election day. That shouldn't be a problem, if the rules are communicated up front.

In 2016, the GOP won 241 seats in the House, plus the White House and 52 seats in the Senate but still did not accomplish the promised healthcare reform, the promised infrastructure funding, or the promised border wall from Brownsville to San Diego that Mexico would have to pay for.

The GOP is less organized now than it was then.

Even the Supreme Court Trumpers are no longer marching in step together:

It's hard to think the GOP can enact much of anything.

Republican SCOTUS nominees hardly ever march in lockstep, you're confusing them with Democrat SCOTUS nominees.

Doors were locked in Philly on my attorney client who worked for the McCain campaign. There were no ugly mobs. So what’s the next excuse?

Bloodbath or trickle. Matters not
He’s sticking his head in the sand. He will know the difference in Jan 2023. Pelosi, Hoyer, Clyburn, Watters, Raskin, Benny Thompson, The Squad, Nadler and others. All told to sit down and shut up in committee meetings and hearings. Jan 6 committee better get all their TV specials done in the next month.

Watch all the excuses when the WH ignores document requests. Hopefully the FBI will be dragging them out of their homes in the middle of the night. Yea that pink trickle matters.

Can you explain the reasons for the "impeach Joe Biden" sentiment? Impeachment is for criminal activity, not just for being a member of an opposing party. Trump was accused, credibly, of actual crimes. What are the actual criminal allegations against Joseph R. Biden? Not Hunter Biden, and not some disagreement over an executive order that ruffled feathers. Where are the crimes? You know, the Nixonian or even Trumpian grifting and cover-ups?

Where did I say I wanted illegal votes counted?

That would require them changing to law to match Florida law. The people who are administrating these elections have nothing to do with it. But you know that.

Why are people intentionally playing DUMB on this issue. heck, in Florida overseas voters have 10 after the election to have their votes in. So even in Florida, if a race were close enough they would still be counting. The secret sauce is not to have close elections

Right now the states like Arizona have prioritized voter convenience. Florida does prioritize rapid counting by cutting off drop boxes early. Suddenly instant gratification is the most important item.

They are at 99% in Florida.
Still counting?

Is claiming that the judges are thinking & applying their interpretation of the law beyond partisan agendas supposed to be an insult? Sounds like we need more R appointed judges then.

It is unfortunate, but one party sees judges as solely a mechanism through which to create or affirm preferred policy.
