I bang on Green and Smith all the time...

Smith played great. Shot in rhythm . Active on the boards and ran ran the floor hard for some big buckets in transition

Smith was out of position on help side the first couple of times down the floor when they scored inside and I was hoping he'd get pulled. Really glad it didnt happen and he got himself back on the plus side of the ledger and just kept climbing.

Romeo let us down. What did he have at the half? 1 pt I think.
Agree that he was absent in 1st half. He was much more aggressive and made a positive impact in the 2nd half. MSU focused on RL and played to stop him all half. That’s part of it. Plus he just wasn’t active.

Some of that is our puzzling offense. Another game with him standing on the weak side, watching, for long stretches of time. Makes him easy to defend.

It's more the fact that he's Oladipo when he goes right but Tijan Jobe when he goes left (or tries to use his left hand. When he goes left he'll twist his body to try to square up his right shoulder).

So yeah the reason why he stands in the top corner is because his one move is to get a handoff and then, wait for it, drive to the right side of the hoop with his dominant right.

This was the JS I thought I would see more of after the finish last season. I hope DG and JS remember this game and we see more of this and less of what we have seen in the first 28 games.

Totally agree.
I said this on another post. He really needs to watch video of Richard Hamilton so he can learn to move without the ball.
If he was more active, guys would set the screens off ball. I mean, watch Reggie Miller when he didn’t have the ball. Dude never stopped.

He certainly makes himself easy to defend at times. He has to develop a left hand. And he has to develop a nasty 3pt shot. He adds those two things and he will be unstoppable

Izzo's game plan looked like they wanted to force Justin to score and he did! Devonte made good on his opportunities as well. Team effort all around. Two hard fought games in a row. Could this be a trend? Well done Hoosiers!

Simple basketball in that Smith was completely disrespected from MSU's game plan the first game. Gave him an opportunity to make a difference offensively this game.
Hes been disrespected most of the year and rightfully so. The dude couldnt hit water if he fell of a boat. The first couple games like this you think it would motivate more time in gym shooting. The most extreme was Ohio state where they sagged off him 10 feet or more.

So why does he just as often stand to the right when the action is to the left? That means on a reversal that he's taking the handoff going to his left and has to come back right into the defender without momentum, instead of the other way. Coming the other way, he'd be going downhill with his strong hand and could split the D or continue around the defender based on the strength or weakness of the hedge.

They sent several guys at him every time he got the ball
