How’s everyone feeling?

I’m nervous.

I’m anxious.

I feel like they can’t beat us if we are playing at or near the top of our game.

Don’t turn it over.

Get off the field on third down.

Don’t settle for field goals.

Let’s do this.
I was breaking down film from the OSU game last night and I feel more confident today than I did yesterday. Aside from stupid mistakes, IU genuinely was unquestionably the better team the entire first half.

Even the 2nd half we opened with 2 good gains, 3rd and inches....false start. Suddenly it's 3rd and 6 and ND can pin their ears back. But even then we had open options but Rourke was set on Lawson on an out from the snap. Then the punt return happened.

I know the team saw the same stuff and there were so many BASIC mistakes made that were not because we weren't as good as OSU. A missed blocking assignment by Ellison, that's just a mistake!! If we play fundamental ball and not let the moment get to us, I think we are the better team and win. Maybe even convincingly.

I'm with you when you're right, lol!

Nervous, but that's a "me" problem. We have good explanations on 2H UM and the OSU game, but the fact remains we haven't played well vs. more talented teams yet. YET. We can though.

It is nice being in a huge game. It's been awhile as an IU fan... in my opinion we haven't had a game this big since the '02 Final Four.

Building confidence as the week has gone on. Still pissed off we didn’t get a home game. We deserved one more than Notre Dame.

Give me a final four over the 12 team playoff any day of the week. If we can win tonight then we’re talking about Elite 8 Saturday/Sunday level of excitement for the bowl game.

Yea, I get what you’re saying. Since CFB is so much bigger than CBB I put more weight on this playoff. We are THE game on Friday night and anyone who likes football will be watching. Winning would be such a big deal, especially with our history. Man I hope we can somehow win this one.

The 12 team playoff has been literally building for weeks and weeks. They do the Tuesday night show weekly for well over a month.

The attention this brings isn't a Final Four flash in the pan; this absolutely dwarfs anything basketball related. Ask the local businesses in Bloomington how they feel about this epic season. Their wallets are fatter than ever...

If we pick up most of their blitzes and avoid kicking to their returners we'll Win this going away, much to the dismay of the Irish faithful...

INDIANA - 55
Notre Dame - 6

That's my prognostication and I'm sticking with it... ❄️🏈❄️🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺

Lite snow in Goshen as of 830 am maybe an inch which means probably 3 in south bend…..feel like the snow will negate any pass rush since you may hit be able to cut back, which means our passing game will be good…..if we take proper angles to the ball we should be good, used to love playing in the snow, just wear my thermals and pre-order my hot chocolate while I was undressing in the hallway 🥰

I'm more anxious about the cold than the game. But it's been a ride I'll never forget, so I'm in until the end.

If we play a mistake free game (e.g., Nebraska, I'm supremely confident).

If we play with mistakes (e.g., Maryland, I'm uncertain)

If we play with big mistakes (e.g., OSU, we lose).

Pretty cliche take, but it's cliche for a reason.

To me, the game will 100% turn on whether the defense can stay off the field. If the offense can't sustain drives and/or the defense is giving up long drives, they WILL tire out and I think we likely lose.

It’s the biggest football game since IU vs PU in 1967 and IU vs USC in 1968.

All teams can point to particular plays and say "what if" but Sarratt clearly was wide open and let a pass at the two yd line get away from him as he hit the ground against Michigan. If he holds onto that one, IU's win looks much better and nobody would be talking about a close win over a mediocre Mich team. I was very concerned leading up to the OSU game due to their incredible winning record at The Shoe. I'm much less concerned this morning because ND has a history of letting big games slip away on their home field . . . that and I believe IU is far and away better than any team ND has played this season. ND is NEB with a much better offense; the game will be close but IU can prevail if they get even a bit of run game going to keep the ND blitz at bay.

Very anxious. The only reason I'm not full on cocky levels of confident is the 2nd half of Michigan, and the middle part of the OSU game. Notre Dame is probably in between Michigan and Ohio State, in terms of overall how good they are. Hard to tell based off their schedule and results, but I don't think they're better than OSU. And I don't think outside the overall electricity with the CFP situation, Friday night, the aura of ND Stadium...once the ball is kicked and they've knocked each others heads around a bit...the environment inside ND Stadium shouldn't be anything close to what the Shoe was last month. The Purdue game showed an ability to move on, and be razor sharp after a mistake filled performance. If we avoid catastrophic mistakes, I like our chances.

Gonna use the hell out of my Traeger this afternoon/evening. Hoping the cold ass temps don't mess with that too much.

Smoked wings
Smoked meatballs for spagetti and meatballs
Smoked queso dip

If nothing else, we'll be eating really well tonight. Last time I made the wings and queso dip...Nebraska happened. So if we Nebraska ND tonight...you're welcome!

I am thoroughly blessed. I had five of my six children over for an impromptu dinner. What a blessing to see all of them grow up and have families of their own. Christmas at my house came early. They live all over the country. I'm so proud of them all. I'm tired of all the Doctor visits, but whatever the outcome, God has blessed me. Im so proud of the Hoosiers both in football and BB. There are things in life much bigger than sports. Yes, I wish BB was better but complaining never helps. Its getting to a point with so much negativism in the state. CM can not get a recruit from the state. ho would want to come here, when all you here is fired the coach. I want to help Indiana no matter the coach. There are 2 many would-be coaches on here. Let the man coach and let the team grow. If we have an unsuccessful season, Im sure CMW will be gone. I will still support the Hoosiers no matter who they hire but now is not the time. I love the Hoosiers, they are my fav team no matter the sport. Happy HOLIDAYS and merry xmas.

There was that phantom PI call at the end of the first half against UM that cost IU 7 points too. That would have changed how the 2nd half went.

The only way I could get more pumped is if Coach Cignetti emerges from the tunnel and charges the Indiana team out across the field riding a massive Bison with steaming breath and nostrils with a Crimson flaming IU Trident in hand and then procedes to plant it at midfield

Also... its very possible that the Michigan team we faced that day, was already turning the corner and becoming the team that housed NW 50-6, then went in and beat OSU in the shoe, in the 2 games after they played us.

No huge mistakes, I think we win tonight.

100%.

This is the brightest spotlight on IU Athletics since, in my opinion, the Knight era. Tonight's game has the attention of the entire country, and the ratings will be through the roof. The storyline - - one of the most iconic brands in all of sports versus the perennial Big Ten also-ran that has suddenly found life with a dynamic new coach - - is gripping.

Leading off the first 12-team CFP in prime-time, with the buzz surrounding it, is an incredible opportunity for Indiana football. Let’s hope they make the most of it.

This needs to happen. Better yet, planting the IU Trident in the heart of their terrified leprechaun mascot...midfield.

Same way I’ve felt since the matchup was announced. Confident that ND wins handily unfortunately. I really wish it was at a neutral site.

I've brought this up to a few ND supporters I know laughing about our schedule. That Michigan win is better than any win ND has except for A&M which was week 1. Michigan will have four players hear their name called on Thursday night in April. Maybe the most of any team in college football.

As someone who hates ND so much I root for whoever is playing them during the season (even Purdue ) I am extra nervous. I don't want to end the season with a loss to ND. It would be devastating. Let's win this game and move on to Georgia.
