Cheers
  • Great crowd turnout in spite of the weather. The snow was very pretty
  • Oh my wow, what a classic ass whoopin. Just what I came to see
  • Great experience seeing the seniors lift the Bucket and coming over to celebrate with the students who stuck around
Jeers:
  • Damn, it was cold. My feet must have sweated walking over in my snow boots. My toes about froze off by the end. Still worth it, but so so cold.
  • I’m writing an email to the facilities people and Dolson. The steps were pretty clean overall, but there was a landing by us that was straight ice. When we informed the closest usher after several slips, falls and near falls and were told they’d tell their supervisor, who…….did absolutely nothing. I spent a longer portion of the 3rd quarter than I’d like standing at it with my back to the field warning people coming back to their seats. It was flat out dangerous and gross negligence to not treat it or at least put someone they pay to keep the place safe to stand there and warn people. So pissed.
  • Jr has been wanting to rush the field since he’s been coming to games. I thought the students might with a big win over Purdue because it basically clinched a CFP bid. So we went over to the student section with like 5 minutes to go because I told him that if they go, we go. He tried to take the temperature of some kids and some douche of a guy told him to “get lost, this is for college kids.” Kids will be kids but he can eat a whole bag of dicks. I guarantee my 10 year old has been to more IU games, sat through more minutes of IU football, been to more away games, has more program knowledge, and is a bigger fan than he’d ever be. Pompous ass, way to ruin a potential moment to share with young fans.

Why not have toe warmer inserts in your boots? I was perfectly warm. Almost too warm tbh

As for the douche, it's annoying as hell and pointless for that turd to say that to a kid. With that being clearly stated, I know going into the highly inebriated student section at 10p is a gamble one must realize they're taking. Right or wrong, I can't say that behavior shocks me.

Thankfully, we got to celebrate this victory at home. If the weather had been warmer, more people would have stayed and the field would have been rushed…maybe even an IU flag planted at midfield. Don’t try and tell me this would have been unsportsmanlike conduct, given the hurt feelings of our opponent. If so, maybe the IU Athletic Dept. should have provided both teams with hot chocolate and warmly baked cookies at midfield as a show of “no hard feelings, guys, and better luck next time.”

That the facility manager didn’t anticipate putting out buckets of sand or bags of salt next to the ramps for the predicted snow is worthy of reprimand.

Saw at least two people take nasty falls on the bleachers near us. One guy got very lucky a lady saw him falling and she managed to protect his head before it slammed into the concrete.

Yikes! The facilities manager should have anticipated ice on the concrete... Hope is not a plan...

I'm guessing they don't want to use salt due to potential concrete and rebar damage but some sand and at least some warning cones would seem to be the minimum to be done along with posting an usher at the most dangerous spots...
