Agree both with people coming out of the woodwork after a loss and on Bates. Anyone that can’t see his potential is blind as a bat. Now will he live up to the potential is the question. Hasn’t happened this year but he is probably the only person on our team capable of scoring at all 3 levels and handle the ball. He needs to add strength and grow some in Woody’s offense but I believe he will be an NBA player as well. In fact I think he is probably the most likely to lead us in scoring next year assuming TJD and Race are gone. I would think in the neighborhood of 15 ppg.
Why wouldn’t a Knight worshipper like that? I say if it’s true that Knight didn’t want him, then I didn’t either.

Bracey was really good until they got tape on him. The guy never developed. He started chucking shots that did not have anything to do with good offense from a team perspective. Also he never was held accountable. It boggled the mind how bad he got.

He had no one around him. We had lineups with Sean Kline, Mike Roberts and Pat Ewing Jr in the front court. He was about the only offensive threat we had

Ok some of you need to study this video. Stop with the “shooter are just standing around”. They are where they are supposed to be. They just can’t hit enough shots.
I agree with your opening statement, to an extent. I’m not sure some of the players on the 2002 squad would’ve developed as well under RMK. However, once the program consisted of only Davis recruits, that’s when the trouble began. I still have respect for Mike Davis as a person, and he was thrown into an impossible situation. Our current problems are not the fault of Mike Davis. The fault lies on the decisions made after Davis departed. For the next decade. I do not want to dump on CAM, but that decision now looks like the worst yet. We should be well out of the hole we still find ourselves in. The four Miller years at IU were an absolute disaster for this program.
Yes, I had forgotten that little gem of Mike's, his outburst of delusion in grand form. He was definitely learning on the fly, much like our current Mike who, likewise, never coached a college game when hired.
Crean had two good teams. The 2016 team that won the B10 outright actually had more NBA talent on it than 2013. Crean was the last time IU actually had talent on the team, but he was a mediocre coach and couldn't take them very far and couldn't sustain it year to year.
Sean May's decision wasn't about Knight....it was about his dad. Thats where the decison was made.
My concerns about this team include the use of the portal.....Durr and Xavier wouldn't play for the top half of the B1G.....so why are they at IU? How IU could be recruiting any perimeter player who isn't a high level shooter (including the free throw line) is baffling. This team came into the season needing shooters in a bad way....so why is Xavier on the roster? Kopp? He may have over-achieved last year and fooled everyone...but he too wouldn't be found on the top half of the B1G rosters if not for IU.
Why is Xavier on the roster?? Man, I shudder to think what this team would look like without him. We go as he goes.

Add to that that we always manage to bring out the best in almost everyone we play. Does anyone ever have a bad game against us? I guess Purdon't and PSU in Bloomington. scUM plays out their butt. NW miraculously figures out how to close when playing us. Kofi looks like Karl Malone then of course Sparty snaps out of their funk against us. Fully expecting both Wisky and Minny to look like the Phoenix Suns against us.
