How many years before they are able to vote? I read somewhere and they said 5 years, but thought that was crazy. Anyone know?

It's a forever process. TPS designees are not eligible for citizenship. They have to have another channel open to them.
As I understand it, this is not a pathway to citizenship. TPS is regularly reviewed, if Haiti is ever thought safe, they are out. If they violate the law they can be removed.
Now they can apply for citizenship like anyone else. They are not at the front of any line, they have to wait out the process. It appears the wait for a green card is 2 years, and once one gets that a 2-3 year wait for citizenship. But none of that is guaranteed for the Haitians, they have to go through the same process as anyone else.

I think it depends. The rule of thumb for Sailors who marry citizens of other countries is that it takes a minimum of five years. Unfortunately, divorces come soon after that for too many of them. I have heard it taking longer though.
Thanks for answer. So if another channel doesn’t open, what happens? Are they eligible for legal employment forever? This will be an issue for employers in our area.
Trump said he will have them gone in three months, so it probably doesn't matter.

Btw is she black, white, brown or yellow? She has a different speech dialect depending on who she’s speaking to. Wonder if she has an Amish dialect. I guess she figures everyone is dumb like she said young people are.
This is a fairly weak complaint in my opinion.
I have lived all over this country (California, Ohio, Colorado, Alabama, NC, Indiana, Florida) and long enough at each of those locations that I have picked up the dialect. I also worked for a Japanese company for 8 years.
When I am in Alabama, the twang in my voice just pops out after a couple of minutes of talking. Same thing with NC (though it's a slightly different twang, it's kinda subtle).
When I talk with Japanese people, I talk in a broken-English, removing some words that the Japanese language doesn't use (Ie. "the" is removed frequently, etc.)
When I am in California (parents still live there), I find myself often having a bit of a Hispanic emphasis when talking to the people in my parent's neighborhood.
When I am in Florida, I beat my wife a bit more (J/K)
The point being, I am not altering my speech because I am pandering to the audience. I am doing it because they just understand me a little better.
I used to spend every summer of my youth in TN. It was amazing how quickly I went from talking normal (indiana) and saying things like "you guys" to replacing it with Y'all and over yonder. Only to have the process reverse itself once I got back to Indiana...

Whenever I am talking to MAGA's I talk very slowly and tend to use the vocabulary of an average 6th grader.
When I was a freshman at Purdue numerous people told me I had a "northern accent" (I grew up in NW Ohio). Still don't know that that means, but after about 3 months I did not hear that comment again - until the next Fall when I returned to campus from NW Ohio.
Come on, man. Everyone knows they can vote via absentee ballot as soon as the Democrat community organizers get to them...
