Goodman.

Well, we’re a football school now which is actually better.

BTown Banners is crushed lol. Bunch of little girls losing their minds right now. They really thought IU was getting Stevens.

Anyone with common sense knew these coaches weren't going to IU. Best case scenario the next 10 candidates all say no, which is definitely possible, and we have to "settle" for Beard

Cignetti is a unicorn and IU hiring him proves even a blind squirrel can find a nut. But the institutional ineptitude remains. It’s not surprising any halfway decent coach wants no part of this job. Time to face reality.

Only one on that list I thought was much of a possibility. A couple I didn't want.

There's plenty of fine coaches in the profession. We'll get a good one.

Nothing wrong with taking a flyer on a guy like McCollum if he's interested, maybe Vandy's guy if he's interested. We took a flyer on Woodson. Now maybe we'll take a flyer on someone who has been, you know, coaching college basketball.

Well that’s not really fair, is it? We certainly rail on the poor hires so we need to give credit where it’s due. And it’s definitely due for the Cig hire.

He hasn’t hired his basketball coach yet. Probably a good idea to at least wait and see who it is. Then to also see the product on the floor.

Hire this guy or we are back here in 3-5 years. Guaranteed.

Did you just bring rationale to these proceedings? How dare you!

This is playing out the same way it did four years ago.

This is all nonsense, folks. Do you really think Dolson is on Option Q right now? Please. I wouldn't be surprised at all if he gets the guy he wanted all along.

I have major Beard fatigue, but just one more thing: He's not Basketball Jesus. Yes, he's a very good coach who would likely fit well at IU ... but he's not the second-coming of Knight. Go compare his coaching career to others mentioned the last month. Once you do, you'll find CB's record doesn't tower above the others.

All that said, yes, Beard would be a very good/great hire and, if that's Dolson's guy, I'm all for it. But he's not the only diamond in the mine.

& you lol at the people on BTB🤣🤣🤣

With NIL $$ we could probably land any of about 20 coaches and be successful. Don’t forget we’ve been saddled with the most inept coach possibly in the history of power conference bball

Outside Stevens…the best candidates weren’t mentioned. So what’s the big deal even is he is right?

McCasland, McCollum, Beard. Those are the best 3 candidates. Honestly in no particular order. All 3 have their pros and cons. All 3 would he home runs.

Or unless Dolson identifies the right coach for IU, whether that coach is an “elite candidate” or not.
Yep. What I've always said, don't get locked in on a target too early and cast a wide net, interview a lot of folks and hire the guy that convinces you he will do the job. I think Beard would do great and is a great fit. If we hire him, that's good in my book because they researched him and got a clean bill of health, if not, then they found someone better like McCasland or McCollum.

Otz sounds like a great option too, what don't you like about him?
