I don't care about HS. You are obsessed with it. After the age of 18 he was a complete bust. You know how big of a bust you have to be to be a lottery pick and already out of the league?

Or...he accomplished something only a fraction of the population ever accomplishes. Did he bang your girlfriend or something? You obviously have some valid points, but your dislike for Romeo is weirdly emotional.

You don't have to "care about HS" to respect someone scoring well over 3000 points, for a big school, in Indiana. None of the fellas you've championed in recent years at IU have that gumption or that ability. And I'm not sure you understand, or give enough credit, for what he faced in high school. Every single game he played was circled on the opposing teams calendar. He was double teamed, caught dirty play, in most of his games. One of your recent favorites, X...there's zero chance he'd have made through a half season without getting in to a fight and completely flying off the handle if he faced what Romeo faced. And no, that's not an endearing thing, or any sort of sign of toughness. If anything, the exact opposite.

Do you know him personally? I know his body language was hard for some to deal with. But the kid not only scored historically high amounts of points, for a freshman at IU, he also averaged over 5 rebounds a game, over 2 assists a game, and was often tasked with guarding the other teams best perimeter scorer. Archie wasn't a great coach, but I doubt Romeo plays 34+ minutes a game, and has those roles, if he was actually lazy.

Romeo isn't a high level outside shooter though, on that you are 100 percent correct. He wasn't in high school, though I believe he pushed close to 40% from the 3 in high school. But even without the hand injury, he was never going to be a 40+ percent 3 point shooter at the higher levels of play. But to completely discount the torn ligaments in his shooting hand (that still effects him to this day, for what its worth)... it all seems a little disingenuous, and emotional.

Don’t have time to read your whole post, but I don’t like people acting like he was good. He didn’t nothing. We didn’t even make the tournament. I wish he never came to IU. Just like Kaleb banks or CJ Gunn to me.

I think there is more to offer with Tuckers game than Mgbako. Much of that is Tuckers effort on both ends of the floor. He seems to be very mature for his age and his game reflects it. I think he's a natural college 3 that should start there and back Mgbako up at the 4. That's another discussion.

He was really good. And nothing like those examples you used. You've got a lot of good content on here. This one makes you sound like a huge douche bag.

Better shooter so far then Romeo. And more athletic. Reminds me of Evan Turner of Ohio State.
for god sakes stop with the comparisons. Kid is good from inside and outside. Also, has a mid range fade away to get shot off. Very comfortable scoring as a freshman. Selfishly, lets hope he sticks around a couple years.

If it is true he was sucking something on his teammates girlfriend then there are better teammates.
Whoa whoa whoa. Romeo banging his teammates gf had something to do with the chemistry and he was a cancer? Shocking

Does anyone else remember the 12 losses in 13 games streak???

Real winner.

Isiah says say what? But agree overall. Jay was silky smooth and a lights out shooter from deep.
With emphasis on “from deep”.
the second half last night was some of the most boring IU basketball I've watched. And the Hall sounded bored as well, not sure if the weather kept some people away, maybe the students split early for turkey break. felt too much apathy coming through the TV. Hoping this team wakes up next week.
Actually, the student section was well represented. Seating priority must be on a first come/first served basis because they were still filing in a continuous line, row by row ascending after the game was well underway. Alumni were also late getting seated, which is what 6:30 starts do. I went from thinking it was going to be the smallest crowd of the year to an average one in attendance.

You’re right though, other than Bryson’s play it was pretty boring basketball, relatively speaking. I get tired of seeing Reneau slowly trying to back his defender down. He needs to be more explosive when he gets the ball in his hands and should be making that one move of his instinctively by now.

Woodson remembers Barkley successfully backing his defender down time after time from his NBA coaching days. What’s the problem?

That team with he and Morgan was definitely up there in terms of the most frustrating teams ever for IU.

Most underachieving team of my lifetime. Romeo and arch were the main reason.

Never understood why people glorify Romeo. He did nothing for IU.

I don't have quite the animosity towards Langford and Cavanagh, but I wasn't a fan, either. He just didn't affect winning. And while it has to be true that the hand injury hurt his shooting percentages he sure didn't back away from shooting, that's for sure. I thought his 16.5 ppg was pretty empty.
