Was Effross who gave up the HR to Tommy Edman in 2014? I was crushed for that guy. He obviously shook it off, but still....

Still a painful memory. I had a chance to go to the CWS in ‘13 but didn’t. Thought I was in good shape to make it ‘14 until Erdman hit Scott’s first pitch over the right field wall. My evil side wonders if Scott drilled him the first time he faced him with the Cards.

Yes I happened to have customer in Omaha so made cws v miss state game. No one was hitting it out that year but Sam Travis came within a foot to centerfield that game. As I recall that would have tied things up… was geared to go again with a better team on paper in 2014 until that walkoff Monday night final game…

Those were the days. Will we ever get back? I remember actually thinking we'd probably get there again and again. Boy, times have changed.

In regards to Effross, I was kinda shocked to realize he's 28. Shows a helluva lot of determination to last that long in the minors. As the Yanks are my second favorite team, I'd love to see him in the playoffs this year.
