8,000 political hacks with their own union and lobbyists....

DOA come January 21, 2025.
You said the cases had something to do with SES personnel, and those cases still have nothing to do with SES personnel. Also, they aren't political appointees and very few if any SES personnel are in unions (most government workers aren't in unions). Schedule F is not about SES personnel alone. It was Trump's effort to politicize government employees by getting rid of any that weren't perceived to be loyal to HIM and hire people that were loyal to him. This is not a good idea and was shut down. Trump very likely cannot implement Schedule F via Executive Order as he was trying to do. It's very unlikely to be implemented this time around.

I'm not an expert on Schedule F, but doesn't that essentially make tens of thousands of civil servants political appointees serving at the pleasure of the Executive Branch? How is that a net positive?

I feel like non-political civil servants is a nice feature, not a bug.

And also, this is pretty much part of the Project 2025 playbook Trump said he didn't know anything about. Weird how it looks like he's going to start implementing everything in it.

There's a lot to unpack in all this, but bottom line is this extends back to Jimmy Carter administration. Embellished by Oblameless and execrable Deep State political operatives to create a large army of untouchable political appointees who are not even considered federal employees...able to obstruct, slow walk or just ignore the Executive Branch, and more importantly, the American people, who pay their way...who do you think lives in all of those $million mansions in Northern Virginia?
Gaetz scares the shit out of those functionaries.

Political appointees aren't untouchable. The President can replace any of them. Some require Senate Confirmation when appointed. The Senate doesn't have to be consulted when removing them.

You don't know what you're talking about. Again.

So day 1 Trump can go in and fire a majority of the DOJ, FBI, Pentagon, etc with the stroke of a pen?

If it's a political appointment they serve at the pleasure of the President and can be removed at any time. They also all basically resign every time a new admin comes in. US attorneys, agency directors, etc.

What you are talking about are career federal employees. SES are usually career federal employees. Some SES are political appointments, usually agency heads etc. They rotate in/out based upon the administration.

Personal politics is one thing; civil servant jobs aren’t currently political appointments. I get why that might be confusing or a hard concept for you to grasp. If you need more help, just let me know.

Agenda 47/Project 2025 are essentially the same thing. i never said Trump helped write it, but he’s certainly espousing a lot of the most troubling parts of it. If you want to call that a coincidence, knock yourself out.

Any of the political appointees can be fired by the President. The vast majority of the DOJ, FBI, DOD, etc. are not political appointees. The leadership is. Presidents don't fire everyone at once because it would cripple those departments and agencies. They usually ask incumbents to stay until they have a replacement for them. Most often certain appointees are retained. Of course that's what NORMAL Presidents do, and we know Trump is abnormal.

OK. That still doesn’t justify turning the civil service into a sycophantic wing of the government serving at the pleasure of the executive branch. Would you feel any differently if Obama or Biden tried this? I’m guessing you would.

And this could come back to blow up in republican faces when democrats eventually win back the White House.

Actually, they typically offer their resignations, and the President doesn't accept them all or replaces them in an orderly manner.

This...
The SES is the duck blind allowing political rent-seekers to hide from accountability and consequences for their partisan behavior.
You've made it abundantly clear that you have absolutely no clue about how the SES works or how people get into SES jobs. The vast, vast majority of the SES came up through the civil service ranks. They are very apolitical and there are legal consequences for any that are inappropriately political. Political appointees are permitted to be political but even they have legal restrictions.

In addition to the previously mentioned Loper Bright vs. Raimondo 2024,
Inquiring 'progressives' might enjoy brushing up on :

Zivotofsky v. Kerry. 1992
Franklin v. Massachusetts. 1992
Collins v. Yellen. 2021

West Virginia v. EPA. 2022

One of the first EO'S President Trump will issue is that all Federal employees will be in their offices 5 days per week, normal business hours.

One study shows that on any work day, only 17% of Federal employees are present in their workplace.

Another interesting report estimates that as many as 20% of the Federal workforce will seek other employment if actually required to show up for work.

Enhanced AI will be employed to sort out the Pentagon, which has failed 7 straight audits, and cannot reliably account for $Billions of expenditures, equipment and facilities.

All those damn deep state FAA inspectors.
This is the same FAA that over regulated U.S. drone manufacturers to the point that we’re getting our ass kicked in drone tech by China? So that 90% of drones used by U.S. law enforcement and military are manufactured by China?

The same FAA that is currently trying to slow progress in space travel by harassing Elon? The same FAA that can’t keep doors from falling off Boeing planes?

In your attempt to be snide you actually pointed to one of the most over-bloated, anti-growth agencies in the Federal Government. Kudos.

The usual dumb****s posted laughing emojis all through this thread. Typical.
Estimates are that the pernicious Bibama lame ducks have added over 50 thousand additional employees to the engorged Federal payroll in the last month, and political appointees are being 'burrowed' into protected civil service positions at an unprecedented rate.
Their task? To obstruct, delay, and in any way possible to disrupt any efforts to drain the pestilence masquerading as governance in DC.
The next few months are going to be very exciting.
I can't wait for the battles to come. It will be an epic slaughter.

Bro - that is definitely link required. Are you saying the entirety of the career civll service currently in place are being locked into Fedearl jobs they already have?

Because you keep talking about SES federal employees and have no ****ing clue what you are talking about. The vast majority of SES are long term career federal employees that rose up through the GS ranks. I know a couple that started as GS5, 6, 7s coming out of college and rose through the GS schedule over decades.

Something Trump's team doesn't know (and Mas certainly doesn't) is that there are more remote workers in the federal government doing important jobs than there is space for them in the agencies they work for. I know one DoD Institute out in Monterey which sends out teams of consultants and instructors to other countries. They don't need to be in Monterey to do this. Over half live in other (much cheaper) parts of the country and fly to the other countries. They do all the preparation at home and do Teams/Zoom meetings with HQ in Monterey. They don't have the physical space in Monterey for all of them. It would literally cost millions in construction to provide them space there. Then their personnel costs would go up tremendously as they'd have to move many to Monterey and pay them higher salaries due to the higher locality pay. Monterey is awesome, but super expensive.

They're working under the perception that remote workers and teleworkers aren't actually working and that's just a false impression. By the way, being in the office doesn't guarantee that a worker is working more - a bad worker is a bad worker, and the process is to get rid of them if they don't improve. It's not harder to identify a poor worker even if they're working remotely. Also, consider the congestion and significant increase in gas consumption in places like the National Capitol Region (DC and surrounding cities) as all of them have to commute in every day.

It's not just the federal government that has discovered that remote work and teleworking makes sense for certain jobs. We greatly reduced overhead at our place. I was able to hire some superstars who wanted to work with us but didn't want to move from Virginia or Florida or whatever to physically move to Dayton, OH to work with us. When needed to be here for onsite discussions and meetings we brought them here. When the job permits it, and you've got the right people in the job, remote work and teleworking works out very well. Personally, I preferred working in the building, but at times teleworking made sense for me too. Connectivity is good now - it's not like 20 years ago when if we couldn't see them, we didn't always know what they're doing. We old geezers like the idea of everyone coming in, but the young guns see that it's not always necessary. We'll probably not get this genie back in the bottle.

Try finding out who this Simplicius76 and Eugyppius are on their sites. It's not in the About section and I haven't found it elsewhere either. If it's there, it's not being made easy to find. It appears they expect to remain anonymous and blog a bunch of stuff (much of it looks to be nonsense on its face) and be taken seriously.

Are you really arguing for anonymous bloggers who have zero accountability/credibility? I wonder if Simplicius76 and Eugyppius are going to get White House media credentials.
