FIU/Indiana Prediction Thread

FIU gave up a lot of passing yards

IU 45 FIU 20

Florida International is a good first opponent for a passing attack to work out some kinks. The Panthers surrendered 31.8 points per game and opposing quarterbacks averaged a 144.64 passer rating while throwing for 26 touchdowns to only six interceptions. FIU does not appear to have any difference-making pass rushers but they do have optimism the secondary can be a lot better.

Its difficult to predict what schools like FIU are going to be like, especially in today's portal world.

Last years team built a pretty good offense as the year wore on, and they return some key guys from that offense. But their defense gave up quite a lot of points.

For IU, just gonna have to go off the assumption that we'll be more solid and better prepared, if not a little more talented than last year.

All things considered...I say we win something like 37-20. Rourke and the receivers will have a productive day. It'll be competitive for much of the game. Cignetti's coaching chops, and the experienced winners from JMU, allow us to close the deal late.

IU: 41
FIU: 17

IU while a new team is a veteran team so I expect those guy's to come together quicker on both sides of the ball. Deep Receiver and RB room and a capable QB. We have competent coordinators on both sides of the ball. I expect a slow start but IU to take over as the game goes on. Don't think their OL will be able to stand up to an attacking Defense and the only concern is the FIU QB and his scrambling ability.

Florida International 17
Indiana 48

FIU might strike early but will score a touchdown max in the second half as IU pummels the Panthers with both Rourke and Jackson leading touchdown drives. All four of the rotational backs go for at least 40 yards and score four touchdowns between them. Wide receivers go deep enough that 10 different players catch a ball. Defensive line looks athletic and aggressive leading to a 5+ sack game with a couple of fumbles. Their rush ability causes some errant throws the Hoosiers intercept... maybe leading to a pick six?

Quite the detail.
Go big or don’t go.

The only thing I know for sure is the last time IU played FIU we stood
in the FIU parking lot for over 2 hours waiting for an UBER, that
will not happen this time.
Wow did not wait that long for an uber in Gainesville after the Tennessee game. Helluva of a lot more people in G-ville than in Miami. Only took about an hour and a half to get home from the IU- FIU game.
