Fisch mocking Fred's Bill of Rights

We need a APR rule check if a player signs a letter of intent of a scholarship offered by a school can the school then say we no longer honor that letter of intent or does the player need to voluntarily withdraw from letter and would player have to sit out a year if they do so.

The other thing is.........I've watched most of Archie's PCs........I have not heard him say anything that even hints at him having problems with Glass.....not saying they're not there, but he's said nothing to hint at it.

That said, I don't get Archie recruiting Moore (I know that doesn't affect APR) or his handling of Green & Smith.
No way would Archie recruit Smith and Moore based on his players at Dayton no freaking way

Is that true????? I thought once we offered scholarship and it was signed we were committed, I apologize if I was wrong can someone clarify the rule, thanks
If the recruit never enrolls, it can't be held against the university. The NLI does more to protect the institution than the athlete. I think at the point the athlete enrolls at the university they are obligated to give the scholarship, but even that has workarounds (see Ron Patterson). Before that I think they can pull it. They can certainly use it to try to force a player to come if the athlete tries to back out but typically with coaching changes if a player asks for a release the university's will grant it.

Ok so you kind of screw the kid over if you make a coaching change in March and he signed in November.....so here’s in my question was Archie “told” to do the right thing and honor letter of intents????? If Archie could have gotten out then these are in fact HIS recruits HE OWNS them. They are not Creans. Sorry

Wow.............Fischer is really wondering off the reservation with those comments.......is he like Popeye? "I've seen all I can stands, and I can't stands no more'?

edit---I'd like to hear more from Fischer about the "Bill of Rights".....he certainly did mock it, and I'm wondering if it is causing a problem with the basketball or football programs, or both.
Yea, what does Fisch know about IU basketball anyway? He's only called almost every minute of every IU game for 45 years. No way does he know enough to criticize anyone.

Having hearing that I just e-mailed Glass stating that he needs to let the coaches do their job and let him decide who is or is not on the team.

He certainly did recruit Moore. Moore and Durham re-opened their recruitments, without ruling out IU. Smith didn't reopen his and just held firm with his commit. Archie re-recruited Moore and Durham, and based on whatever interest level they had from other schools, both chose to come to IU in the end.

Moore was a 4-star, in some services--as a project big man with big upside. At one point, he was projected to leave early and go in the draft. LOL. It hasn't panned out that way.

Smith has tantalizing athletic ability--but hasn't been able to adjust to the mental side--and the fact that he can't just out-jump everyone all the time. Plus, he's not really a 4, but he's stuck playing there because we don't have anyone better to do it. He's actually been worse this year than last year. It hurts to watch--seems mental with him.

“Four score and 3 years ago, I bestowed upon the beloved Indianasis Universitis my new bill of rights. It shall grant all subjects the right to pursue life, liberty and poor performance on thy courts and playing fields without thy rights being removed for any just cause...so say we all.”

If Smith really isn't a 4, then what is he? An inside 3 that cant shoot?

He is a large part of the problem. Part of my theory is Archie wanted to get rid of Devonte and Fred wouldn't let him because of the APR and the Bill of Rights!
That is very possible. Things leading up to the suspension and the act itself might have split the team as well.

Archie backed off his drastic changes comment on his show last night. He did comment that players had a chance to speak out and address issues over the weekend. I would be interested if "Romeo, you are one of our best players, why don't you want to show up in the first half" came out in the discussion. I believe there is resentment that he isn't playing for the same reason as everyone else.

Again typical of the entitled crybaby generation of these players. My god grow up.

Rabjohns addressed this topic on the Kent Sterling show last week. I wish I could link it, but don’t have it handy. Basically Rabjohns stated it does not guarantee the player a roster spot, just that their tuition, room and board and books would be taken care of by IU. A kid can’t come in, be a bum and says “Hey, you’re stuck with me....”. He goes into some other IU topics that I found interesting as well. If anyone can link, I would appreciate it.
fisch also said "give me a break" when bill of rights was mentioned
