Fisch mocking Fred's Bill of Rights

At the very end of his segment he said something saratically about the players have rights and laughed. Dakich said yeah and laughed Fred's Bill of Rights and they both laughed and Dakich said that was done for Fred's friends in Indy.

Need some details, please.

He is a large part of the problem. Part of my theory is Archie wanted to get rid of Devonte and Fred wouldn't let him because of the APR and the Bill of Rights!
WRONG my guess is Archie didn't want Smith, Durham or Moore but they had signed Letters of intent. Archie would much rather have kept the scholly's, but the clown probably said you can't do that it will hurt our APR. Why would Archie want to sign those guys makes no sense.

That shouldn't be the issue if it was a failed wiz quiz as some are claiming it was, based on the 3 game suspension.

Durham has been one of the few bright spots on this team. As for Moore, he never gets to play so hard to say what is up with him.

Yeah. Fisch took Morgan to the woodshed for being soft.

Pretty much the entire team. He seems to lay most or 100% of the blame on the players. I still feel like it's Archie's job to reach these players and find a way to motivate them, but it does at least leave me more hopeful that things will improve as he gets more of his guys in the program.

He has always said he wanted them. He signed Fitzner also.

IF Glass would have said to Archie (and maybe he did I'm just guessing) do whatever you need to do to win and I will help you, we would be just fine today. I'm not saying cheat, I'm talking about roster management and dismissing players. Archie has a system that requires a certain roster we don't have it.

totally agree and if Glass is interfering with Archie being able to effectivly run his team then he needs to step aside or shown the door.

As much as I've bashed Archie I really like him. Like I never really liked Crean. I thought he was phony, the entire South Assembly hall when we beat Illinois celebration crap BS. Sometimes you can just tell the character of person by the look on their face, Archie seems to have it

Yep, agreed. It is why he is paid the money he is. He needs to play guys who will and can play, and recruit players who will commit to the university and the program.

IU isn't a stepping stone and it isn't, as Dakich says, "a democracy". Miller seems to have reached Durham just fine because the kid keeps working and has definitely gotten better.

I am concerned about the high number of players being constantly held out. There seems to be something more than injuries going on. I have no idea who is doing that. Every time they get a scratch they are sitting out. Something is messed up with whoever holds sway on which players will be available. Miller has alluded to the idea that doctors are making a lot of these decisions but I am starting to wonder if it is extending beyond what might be considered reasonable in other programs.

Keep in mind too, we've gone from a coach who wouldn't curse tweeted bible versus etc, to one who drops f-bombs all the time, quite a change for the players.

Don't really agree with your last paragraph. In terms of the concussions, staff (coaches or medical) has absolutely no input on that. They take a baseline reading for each players cognitive scores before the season and after any possible head injury, they take new readings and if you're outside the acceptable range, you're out until your scores are back to normal. Green's suspension seems like it was probably for pot/disciplinary, so again, I'd support the staff in the suspension or even removal from the team if it was necessary. Then with Davis, he was coming back from a pretty severe injury, so I expected he would be slow to gain minutes and that's been compounded by an ankle injury. So basically at that point for the season that I recall you're down to Hunter, which I don't think anyone has an explanation for, McRoberts, who I don't see playing much because even if healthy with the season being lost, why risk further injury and it makes sense to get guys minutes who are returning. I know Green also had the thigh injury and Durham was out a couple games, but all those seem normal.

OH, brother. You're as bad as the parents who take to twitter.
At least step up and do something about it because just posting on message boards won't do anything. If Glass is hindering what Archie can do when it comes to the roster then people need to let him know that is no acceptable.

Rabjohns addressed this topic on the Kent Sterling show last week. I wish I could link it, but don’t have it handy. Basically Rabjohns stated it does not guarantee the player a roster spot, just that their tuition, room and board and books would be taken care of by IU. A kid can’t come in, be a bum and says “Hey, you’re stuck with me....”. He goes into some other IU topics that I found interesting as well. If anyone can link, I would appreciate it.

What was your message to Glass?

"I heard some innuendo on the Dan Dakich show that led me to believe that you're not allowing Coach Miller to determine who should on the team. Based on the level of knowing laughs between Mr. Dakich and Mr. Fischer, it's obvious to me that it's time for someone like myself to step up and say something. Strong message follows."

Geezus, GTFOH with that crap.

Just asking since I just got to this board a few minutes ago what changed your attitude toward Archie or is this just some sarcasm.
I went and watched some videos of him and his players at Dayton, those guys were junkyard dogs total killers. Not our pre-madonna look at my hairdo wanna be's.

Watch this and tell me this guy doesn't have total command of his team. Also tell me if you think our players fit this mold.....No way .

That is why if Brook's wants to be a one and done then go to UK because I want to get players who are here for the long run and want to make IU successful and just not worry about their NBA careers. I would rather have players like Happ or Davidson from UW who plays their butt off and is worried about winning for their team.

Wow.............Fischer is really wondering off the reservation with those comments.......is he like Popeye? "I've seen all I can stands, and I can't stands no more'?

edit---I'd like to hear more from Fischer about the "Bill of Rights".....he certainly did mock it, and I'm wondering if it is causing a problem with the basketball or football programs, or both.

I doubt this is the case. If so, Archie could have half-assed recruited those guys so he didn't actually get them. Also, Smith was a type 75 type recruit with pretty good talent, and we had a need for talent. I do have to say I always wondered why he re-recruited Moore.

The Green speculation is also pure speculation, but seems more plausible.

It does take up a scholarship if the guy stays in school....that's the issue, not the roster spot....

Frankly, it seems to be more likely a potential problem with football rather than basketball.......football is SO demanding, if you're not playing and the team is getting it's ass kicked...........

What makes no sense is this post. Zero. None. Zip. Zilch. Releasing players from their NLI before they even set foot on the campus has no affect on the APR.

Our guys don't even talk like these guys, let alone play like them.

It's hard to believe we're where we're at with this program.
Right look at them it’s all business. Their appearance (yea their haircuts) their attitude everything.....

Is that true????? I thought once we offered scholarship and it was signed we were committed, I apologize if I was wrong can someone clarify the rule, thanks

The other thing is.........I've watched most of Archie's PCs........I have not heard him say anything that even hints at him having problems with Glass.....not saying they're not there, but he's said nothing to hint at it.

That said, I don't get Archie recruiting Moore (I know that doesn't affect APR) or his handling of Green & Smith.
