First (2nd) Portal addition coming?...

Goode would be a good guy to come off the bench for 15-17 minutes a game.
I don't think he'd hurt anything, necessarily. But if we do get Conwell, Dix, and Enright, to go along with DeVries...I'd strongly prefer some versatile, 3, D, strong ball handling perimeter guys, and whatever is the best big man rotation...to fill out the roster. Not sure we'd need Goode nearly as much if we signed those 4 guys.

Yeah, I understand CDD wanting to clean house but selfishly I would like to see Goode back. He wants it.

Only problem is we don't need another streaky shooting, non impactful defender... if we get the guys that have been mentioned we could. And if Goode goes to the trouble of getting the waiver, and comes back, obviously there would be some expectations that he'll play. I might rather give Goode's minutes to Sisley? Either way, I'd rather give them to someone that can defend, rebound, and make plays with the ball.

Is he worse than whatever eigth or ninth guy who replaces him?

IF... we have Dix and DeVries as main rotation wings... we have Sisley coming in as a wing as well... I don't think, at that point, we need to use the 15 ish minutes Goode would command, on Goode specifically. I'd rather divvy those minutes to other types of players... maybe a Kelvin Odih, as an example...

If he's on the roster, he'll be one of the top 8-9, I'm sure, and would play accordingly. I'm not certain that's the best thing, depending on who we get in the portal.

Don't need Goode. He was streaky at best and a poor defender. Get Dix,Mack/Enright,DeVries, and Conwell. Then go after WV big,Bidunga, and 3 more front liners. Fill in the other 2 with decommits HSers and Sisley.
Need a PG, preferably a big (6'4 or bigger) who is both athletic and strong. I don't believe your list has that type of player. Enright was rated lower than Cupps in the transfer portal, IU is not going to win big with mediocre point guards.

Dang. I watched highlights of Enright when it sounded here like a done deal...

And I wanted him, but not badly. Felt he was limited athletically, but is tough, knows how to play, and can shoot.

Now that the rumored destination is Iowa and McCollum, all of a sudden I really want him.

Iowa feels like an awful fit for Enright. When/where is he going to play? Stirtz literally never comes off the floor. I get not coming to IU because they can't guarantee a major role, but Iowa seems like the last place to go for a portal PG.

Enright certainly isn't a can't miss prospect, but would have been nice to have a veteran presence in the locker room who knows and understands DeVries system.

Was thinking the same thing... Stirtz has the ball in his hands, literally, for entire possessions, at times. A backup role at IU, or most other schools, would result in much higher usages for Enright than for Iowa...I would assume.

I bet he still chooses IU.

That's what good coaches do. They convince recruits they want to come even though they likely won't play. How many 5 stars did Cal and Coach K have that barely ever left the bench? A lot.

But Enright isn't a freshman with a professional basketball future. He has one year left and will be playing behind the guy who lead the country in minutes played this year. And I'm not assuming Iowa threw a huge bag at him either because Iowa struggles with NIL as is. I could possibly see this move similar to what we saw with Jack Tuttle transferring to Michigan; a guy without a future wanting to get into coaching down the line.

Probably... but like Loyer... who the hell cares... guys like that aren't taking us where we want to go.
I agree, just saw the Maryland PG from last year is in the portal go throw a bag of money his way. He is the type of PG that we can win big with IMO. Enright can come be his back up if that is what he wants, but I doubt it.

It "sounds" like Malik will end up going to Georgia. He was originally committed to Mike White... its closer to home... I'm sure he'd have a big role down there.
I don’t think CDD will waste too much time on players who have one foot out the door. I would love to have MR back to finish out his career as a Hoosier but if he’s gone, he’s gone. I am really getting excited about CDD and the type of team he is seeking. I’m getting 90’s IU vibes.

Harris and Hansberry are both former Illinois recruits tied to Chester Frazier who may be following DeVries. I don't think IU is in a position to turn down an all-B12 defensive player. I'm not suggesting he starts and plays 35 mpg, but like Enright, you can hide guys in lineups who excel on other areas of the floor. Harris paired with DeVries and an elite scoring 2 guard makes his offensive prowess less concerning. When's the last team IU had a wing defender that could take the opposing teams best scorer out of his game?
The last recent one I can remember was Vic oladipo, he was mostly the only lock down defender we have had most recently. And that was 10+ years ago

Wouldn’t like, at all, if Conwell leaves IU without committing in the next day or so.

And missing on both he and Dix, while obviously not the end of the world (I raised concerns about Dix and DeVries together anyways)…but missing on both wouldn’t be a great sign.
I was hoping to see a commitment last night. There are some rumors that he's visiting Texas today. Also, saw that Dix is down to Illinois or Creighton.

Obviously I have no idea what any of this means... but it sure seems unlikely that we'll get either of them if they make it to their next visits. Maybe that's just a pessimistic take... Conwell is the guy we need though, hope he doesn't make it down to reconnect with Miller.

Why would a kid not complete all his scheduled visits, evaluate all options? Only reason he would commit earlier is if he already knew before the visit that he wanted to be at that school.

One scenario for a fast commitment would be if they liked everything they saw on the visit and the NIL $ were very attractive. They know that programs are looking hard and fast at other portal players who could fill the slots.
Have to agree with you on Conwell though. He has leverage and IU would likely take him now or a month from now.

2 million thats double what ballo got. This is getting totally out of control and its really only the third full year of NIL. I mean why even bother going to the NBA you will be able to make more in college soon.
You're probably going to need $12M to build a top 25 roster. A few more if you want a potential title contender.
