Yea we would not be close to even making the tourney with Archie. It woulda been over awhile ago.

Archie was terrible. I don’t disagree that Woodson probably won’t last 3-4 years. He’s in his 60s and no way he can keep up with the grind of college basketball. I like Woodson as a person just not sure he’s cut out for the college game but it’s early. I thought Archie was a pile of crap.

We wouldn't have had 10 wins this year with Archie. 3 main problems with this team:

1. It's a bunch of disjointed pieces. It's never felt like this team has ever fully gelled.
2. Old habits die hard. This bunch (of whats left from the old regime) just doesn't fully know how to finish out games. The Minnesota game was HUGE evidence of that.
3. No floor general. Haven't had one since Yogi.

Sigh.

If Rutgers should have had a discussion whether Rutgers should foul IU with 2 seconds left (to prevent a three-pointer), there should have been a discussion earlier whether IU should have fouled Rutgers with 10 seconds left (after Stewart hit his three-pointer and before Harper hit his three-pointer). No signs that IU had a discussion like that.

How do smart players with no foul problems let Harper get anywhere near that shot? Is the excuse, "Jeez, the coach didn't tell me to foul Rutgers before Harper's shot."

I really don't understand playing Parker Stewart so much, the kid is just awful and a defensive liability.

Kopp was awful as well, JG should have been in more. just had some really bizarre lineups this season. Woodson just seemed to be guessing all year.

Wait a minute. You would’ve put Rutgers on the line in a tie game on the final possession?

You sure about that? He has better players, but the offense ranks quite a bit lower. Regardless, I'd be surprised if Woodson is here for a third year.
These are basically the same players IMO. Woody needs to start benching anybody who isn't going to hustle and fight. We need an ass kicker leader who isn't going to tolerate this from others.

I'm not going there ..Yet..
But like what's mentioned above..
He's not long term....
Too old ..And I've yet to see any imagination in his offense..
He wants to run stuff that takes Johnny Davis and the Iveys of the world..
He has none on that level..

This is pathetic
Some of us me included were dumb enough to think after beating two bad big ten teams we could make the ncaa. Lol how dumb. This is still the same team that lost five in a row. Two more losses and than the NIT I guess.

With 10 seconds left? Hell, yes. IU should've fouled on Rutgers' inbounds pass (or just wait until Harper or Baker hit a three-pointer with two seconds left). Duh.

You're sending a team to the line in a tied ballgame?

We have some bad losses

Archie esque? Bullshit. Archie would’ve lost by 20. You know it too. You’re just being a jackass.
IU is 4-6 in close games. Wisconsin won 15 close games this year. They were THAT close to being mediocre. Btw, Wisconsin loses their second game in the NCAA tourney.

It's absolutely maddening. He is flat footed and always seems to be catching up or watching his person score. At least JG hustles even though his defense is suspect as well.

When we're down by 20 before halftime on Saturday, I wish he'd just put all the younger guys in and let them play out the game. We have two games left in the season.

He's out after next season. Guaranteed.

That’s ridiculous, unless you think he’ll quit on his own. There is no chance IU would fire a coach after two seasons barring some sort of scandal. He’ll get 4 years minimum.

Maybe he turns it around. I’m not really optimistic about it, but I’ll give him another couple of years before I give up. I still sense that there is something systemically wrong with IU athletics, and the the Next Guy would fare no better here.

He’s definitely in over his head. That’s easy to see. He assembled a team full of players from losing programs. In other words, this team is full of a bunch of losers. Coaching staff included.

His lineups at times were puzzling..
And would put us behind the eight ball..
It only takes good teams to go on 2 minute runs ..That gain them control of the game..

I dont know if he gets four yrs.
Gezz..You saying he gets three more yrs without a tournament appearance...
Fans would revolt big time before that..
Woodson better hit some home runs in the portal..
Next yrs team wont be any better without big time help..
Actually I could see it worse..

First of all, he hasn’t missed the tourney once (yet), let alone three more years. That’s a large assumption. But yeah, even if we did miss this year and the next two I think he’d be back. When has IU ever fired a coach that quickly? It won’t start with someone like Woodson.

Woodson was an experiment at best. He wasn’t qualified for the position he was given. They are more likely to pull the plug in this experiment more quickly than a coach with actual college basketball coaching experience.

Not that our athletic department is competent enough to hire a good coach after him.
