Uh … if anything, I’d say far more people are seeing Fife as the issue. Because it turns out he’s a real ****er, is why.
Scott Dolson says... Perhaps if there is a new AD, Fife could pull a Billy Martin.
At the end of the day, Fife was fired for reasons that most likely go far beyond a personality conflict. Those reasons will still exist regardless of the AD.
He definitely has his work cut out for him ..Not to have a major sophomore slide.
Anything less than this year...And trouble is brewing ..imo

I wanted it to work out, but there can only be one head coach. Using the term "head coach in waiting" was disrespectful to Woodson. Sounds like there were many things behind the scenes that didn't sit right between them CMW needs an assistant he knows and trusts. Would Randy Wittman be open to a permanent role?
People are claiming Izzo was about to fire five before hd came here. Not sure if is an coordinated effort to place all the blame on fife or the truth. Hard to know what to believe.
Given Fife's affinity for leaking out information to his media buddies, you're probably right.
Fife being at Michigan State kept him away from rabby and DD. Once he was giddy and part of IU again he had an easier path to the sewer. Fife thought he had bigger britches than he actually did. Dolson and Woody didn’t have to leave land mines for fife to step on. There were plenty left for him at the offices of the damned.
Im squarely in the camp that Fife was probably more likely the issue than Woodson, but I also think the idea that Izzo was about to fire Fife is most likely just piling on
Fife was asked if he wanted to resign. He was going to do it. His wife and best friend convinced him to not do it and let the University fire him. Woodson wouldn't listen to Fife, and obviously Woody didn't like what Fife was preaching.
There was plenty of smoke about Izzo distancing himself. Fife never denied the coach in waiting there either. Come to find out he was on thin ice up there too. That was said multiple times. He was 3-4th down the bench by the end.
the problem with there not being full disclosure when players get in trouble, or an assistant coach gets let go, is that the speculation about what they must have done, is usually worse than the reality.

This is one of my biggest issues with Woody. If I was an Assistant Coach, I would want my views/opinions to be heard. It was verified today by Rabjohns that Woody only relies on his NBA guys for basketball advice. Woody needs to learn to maximize the utility of players AND his coaching staff.
All of Woody's comments last spring about creating a collaborative environment were BS...and that's sad.
Oh well, I hope he hires a couple GREAT recruiters this spring (assuming Yas goes to Louisville).
He wanted Leal to start mid season. Woody wanted to do it his way, was not interested in Fifes input.
Fife got into light altercation with Aaron Henry and Dwayne Stevens during a game, pretty sure it was his last season at msu.
Also during this season, early on, fife was sitting next to Woodson and said something loud enough for Woodson to hear, Woodson gave him the worst **** you look I’ve seen a coach give an assistant. Wasn’t long after that, Fife wasn’t sitting with the coaches
next season and off season will be very interesting
I'm skeptical about the MSU rumors that appeared a couple hours ago. After all, Izzo promoted Fife to Associate Head Coach.
I suppose there’s a real and significant and important difference between “not listening” to an assistant’s ideas, and actually, honestly *considering* them but deciding otherwise.
They didn't get along. End of the day that is important, so probably for the best. Plus Fife wasn't killing it recruiting. I just dont want Ya to go to Lou.
I partied with Fife and a few other players back in my day at IU. We were there the same years. He’s an Alpha. I wouldn’t b surprised if he and CMW maybe butted heads? Maybe disagreed? I also doubt either one backed down as CMW is also clearly an Alpha. I’ll trust CMW until he gives me a reason not to trust him.

My god. It isn’t hard to look up FG%. Literally every player outside of RP improved their overall FG%.
If you are going to make assertions, please at least have a semblance of what you are talking about.
Wasn’t only a couple of hours ago. They were out there when he “jumped” at the chance to come back while supposedly being the heir apparent to Izzo. I’m to lazy to go back and look. It’s out there though.
Can you imagine Fife coming up with some new swearword Woodson hadn't heard fom RMK already ?
All the Mich st. Stuff was talked about last year. Like most topics they were dismissed because he’s a Hoosier hero.

Always overreactions here. Fact is likely not a single person on this board really knows what all has gone down or what the motives are surrounding this. All speculation
Some is passed the speculation stage. Fife is either dumb or a prick. Probably both. The boss is the boss is the boss.
What do you think of that tweet over in the premium board (Re: Fife)? I can see some truth to some if not all of it. One thing really stands out.
