Eric Anderson Dies at age 48

I am glad that players mentioned that sometimes Anderson took "a butt chewing" for someone else or that Knight "ripped Anderson to get to me", because one of the things I remember about the Big Ten season that year was that Anderson was in the doghouse down the stretch prior to the tourney, and he did not play well in a loss that basically cost IU a share of the title.
However, he seemed to snap out of it and play well in the tourney. Stupid Valentine.

Says he had been struggling with pneumonia. Wonder if he had a pulmonary embolus? What a sad story. Thanks for posting YouTube link of last home game and senior night. He was steady.

"It's cardiac-related, but natural causes until doc can confirm that in a report to me," Hamilton County Coroner John Chalfin said. That final report will likely be issued within 7 to 10 days, he said.

I read an article yesterday stating preliminary COD was a cardiac event stemming from pneumonia, pending the coroner signing off on the autopsy. Haven't looked to see if that has been made official yet. Sad day. He used to show up at our parties at walnut knolls and I bought a car from him when he was working at Roush.

The '92 UCLA game was one of the most enjoyable to watch in this 40+ year IU fan's life. No matter who was in the game, no drop off at all. Youngsters may not realize IU lost to them by 15 to start the season.

I remember that first game so well, such a disappointment. I had a vendor who was a huge UCLA fan, once the tourney started he would come in and harass me that IU was going to get blown out by LSU and Fl. St.. Once IU was going to play UCLA he was merciless in his harassing... All I ever said for each game was, "well, we'll see."

Once IU thumped UCLA he came in and just said "hey" and went about his job... I could've given it all right back to him but I kinda felt bad for him so I let it go.

The thumping IU put on UCLA was enough for me. :D
